Man everyone is clearly on the Peru hype train and that's fine.. but to blast Denmark for a poor performance is wrong in my opinion. They were solid at the back and in possession. A lot of Peru's strong attacking waves came after Poulsen's goal, which is pretty natural.

Peru missed a lot of opportunities but frankly so did Denmark.. this game isn't as black and white as everyone is making it out to be.

My player of the match: Poulsen. Concedes a penalty and then labours all second half to make up for it. Obviously he scores a goal but that guy was working like a horse out there. For example, that clearing header at the back post against Guerreiro..that's a forward doing it! Also just constantly an outlet.

Big ups to both teams, this is what the world cup is all about!

First, congrats to the Danes. They won a highly competitive game. Well earned. Peru also earned their loss. If you waste chances, it's almost always going to haunt you, and for a team that lacks a scoring punch, missing a penalty kick and missing some shots in front of goal are a sin. Obviously Peru took control once they got a goal down, as Denmark understandably went into a defensive shell a bit. Until the goal, while Peru were a little more dynamic, the game was even. Good win, Denmark. We're going to need Guerrero the entire game to have a chance against France, who looked very beatable against the Aussies, so I have hope.

Team Performance: Peru=Average, Denmark= Average

Explanation:

Peru had 6 shots on target (Top Class) but not was capable to score (downgrade to Average)
Denmark had 3 shots on target (Average) and scored 1 (as expected)

Man of the match: ..Y. Poulsen 1 shot on Target and 1 goal, enough to get 3 points for Denmark, and brilliant definition.

The Lord would have scored a hattrick in this game if not for his untimely injury. I think everyone can agree that he's at least on par with Ronaldo, that is if we look at the goal threat they manifest by their mere presence on the turf, even you TottSpurs.

Well, it's like having an ugly wife and insisting she's a smoking hottie. No matter how much you try to convince everybody she's beautiful, the fact remains she's hideous. I don't have to be "hyped" or riding on the Peru train to know that Peru played the football most people would like to see and Denmark were as exciting in their display as a Scandinavian dead salmon.

By the same analogy there are many women that are beautiful without being a typical tall, thin, blonde. I enjoyed what I saw from both sides. I can understand why people enjoyed Peru's performance but there's no need to bash the opposition..again, just my opinion.

This was a very good game. Perus finishing was so inefficient, and Schmeichel did a very good game.

Total domination and some extraordinary misses by Peru! Denmark had no idea where they were or what were they there for...

That's how he always takes his penalties. Personally, I hate those little choppy steps, because you either have to get the keeper to guess wrong or you need perfect placement, as you're typically not going to get much power on the ball. He tried to get too much power on the ball instead of going for placement, fearing that if the keeper guess right, he could block it. So he sailed it. I like Cueva, but he's emotionally too soft. I don't want a player the entire team has to pick up emotionally every time he messes up. Just get over it and play harder.
