Damn this Iran, this guys play dirty all freaking game, bad tackles, complaining with ref, calling for VAR. I know this was an important moment for them and they gave all they could to get the better result but this is just in so many ways wrong Fifa needs to put in charge Referees that can handle this type of games, you can't just allow players to do what I saw them do in this game today.. Im sad Portugal didn't perform well once again but I'm proud of them not losing their head and keep it together in a game that today wasn't football it was more like an Colisseum Arena with Ric Flair tricks in the mix.

Great game by Iran, a team where everyone was predicting a 5 or 6:0 loss, but they almost won in the last second and showed how great their team spirit was.
and of course Ronaldo should have gotten a red card for the clear elbow, but we see that FIFA is still corrupt despite VAR.

I'm so disappointed about Portugal performance even without the missed PK we should have done better in the second half and score another goal but didn't did enough!
The coach was too cautious as usual and we miss the first place and we can only blame it on us!
Besisdes we have been so lucky that Ronaldo has not been sent off!
I hope like in the Euro we will see a better team like we did against Croatia because it will be much harder game against Uruguay!

Enrique Caceres once again confirms what we say pretty much on a weekly basis during the league football season. There are too many referees officiating football matches who don't actually understand the game. How could you give a penalty for that handball is beyond the comprehension of anyone who actually understands what constitutes an international handball. Horrendous.

Iran deserve to lose. Portugal is a much superior and talented team. Iran should be flaterred by the draw, could’ve been a massacre if Ronaldo had scored that penalty. This Iran team has no business in the knock-out phase, should just go home and train harder for the asian cup instead.

Well played to Iran. Spot on tactics and fiesty nature. What i didnt like though is how desperate they got at the end, with tackles incessantly flying in left and right. Also, the most disgusting part was their fan base trying to keep the portugese team awake at night with the vuvuzelas.
I wanted Iran to win today but after this incident i changed my mind.

Love him o hate him, Pepe is a wonderful defender, I had my share of hat towards him, specially cause i thought he should have been forbiden to step in a football pitch after that incident, "the" incident... Now it's all about love, he was the best player of the Euro 2016 without any doubt (the reason we won) and today he showed why he's so good again, putting Fonte into shame

If VAR was fair to Morocco,Pepe could've been the cause for disqualifying Portugal after diverting the ball with his hand on the penalty area. To be fair to him, 2 other portuguese fouled moroccan players for clear penalties . To be honest, I wasn't expecting Morocco to hold the ball and control the game. If the referee was fair and VAR was used when needed, many faults would had been called up, including Cristiano's goal ( it wasn't him who commited the fool but the one who put down 2 moroccan defenders who would've blocked the cross)
BOTTOM LINE : With the level that Portugal showed in Morocco's game and Iran's one, they are definitely not going far in the World cup. It is Cristiano who made hattrick miracle against Spain, the team wasn't solid.

Meh, all players miss pens, you can't take that away from neither Ronaldo nor Messi. I do agree there is a clear Ronaldo bias on footyroom, but does it really matter? You can say that Ronaldo's miss cost Portugal the 1st place spot, and if they lose to Uruguay they can blame it on Ronaldo because if he had scored, they would have faced Russia instead. But then again, same can be said about Messi, his miss might have caused them to go, out, if they dont win against Nigeria.

Boi, We're not Argentinians. Ronaldo is our best player. He gave us so many happy moments. We're never going to blame him if we go home on Saturday. Portugal fans will never turn their back on the team since Fernando Santos came here. Football is about losing and winning. If we win, we celebrate, of course. If we go home on Saturday, I can guarantee you there will be LOTS of fans in the airport waiting for them, because we are proud.

No offense, but I have no idea what you are trying to say with this comment. If you are saying Messi got worse, I would completely disagree.

There clearly is a Cr7 bias on this site. Just look at every madrid game, cr7 is motm 90% of the time no matter what, regardless of how he played. Even on this game, Ronaldo played poorly and missed a penalty which cost them 1st place spot (not blaming him at all for this since he was brilliant other 2 games, just saying for argument sake) but hes still in 3rd place MOTM. That says it all.

as much as it makes me proud for this keeper to get this much recognition, he's been quite mediocre in the iranian league, and I'm guessing you guys are just watching highlights but he had a terrible flop this game that could've been costly also. Not hating on him, just letting yall know. He does have some extraordinary skills such as an astonishing throwing power that goes as far as many punts, and his massive height. I would love to see him flourish though, and it looks like this experience in the world cup might have done that.

Not sure Ronaldo realises that you have to work to get the ball back when you loose it but he won't care! Portugal are through....still no major teams definitely out yet...could still be one hell of a world cup
