i want one cr7 fan that would tell me one player that is a fantastic dribbler a great passer and a shooting master put into one and has achieved a total of assists and goals that is 812 other than leo messi.
Best there is, best there ever was.

i think its better to field 1 star and 9 players who know their role rather than fielding 10 stars who are absolutely clueless on who does what. you let messi play forward, hes going to get you goals, dont let him track back and defend, force him to fight for every ball, wait for him to initiate an attack everytime, use him for his best qualities instead of wearing him down, you cant put him in the middle of the park, and bank on fat higuain and aguero to score, they always fu** up. this is not fifa. argentina as a team is bad, they have a lot of high profile players, but not a team. at least do the dirty work for messi and he will take care of the rest, what ever happens, messi is going to take the blame anyway

They do have a lot of high profile STRIKERs, the rest are very mediocre. Look at their mid and def since the last 5 or 6 years. I agree with everything else though

When are we gonna do without Messi and CR7....there are really no competition like them in this generation

I like it better back then. Football is kinda crappy nowadays compared to the 80-90s era. Two people winning the last 8 ballon d'ors that seems boring as fuck to me.

They still have an amazing team without him. You exaggerate.

Leonardito 9 years ago

Argentina sure has good players, but as a team? Its no exaggerate to say they are s.h.i.t. even a one-two pass they are hilarious to watch. Great players at club level but noobs at national team.

Argentina had no problems to qualify before Messi.

Ooh my god Messi is the genius amazing fantastic superb to score hattrick against a third world football country that should have been routine win for a team like Argentina. Yo kids :)) you make me laugh. Football isn't all fair as you think and I won't be surprised if Ecuador was paid to loose.

Argentina qualified just in the last game and people go "Messi the god". Not taking anything from him, but it is damn annoying to let all the kids do the talk. During most of these qualifiers he and the entire team has been bashed for their performances, even by their fans! You could argue that if Messi&Co were that great they should have qualified long ago! Because you win together and lose together! Messi was phenomenal this game, but please skip the big words for now as this is a job that should have been done much earlier.

Messi played very well during the qualifiers. He wasn't instrumental throughout but indeed performed well. He has missed few due to suspension and that's where things went bad to worst for Argentina.

Without Messi Argentina wouldn't be any better than Venezuela.

When you give your best but no manager can help to motivate other players you really can't be one to blame. When allegedly best strikers in the world Aguero, Higuain, Icardi and other company can't finish against Venuzuelan 19 year old keeper Farinez then it is problem in them. In last 8 matches only Messi scored for Argentina, excluding own goals.

He really isn't one to blame, same happened to Modric during this qualifiers for Croatia.

just shut up because France qualified in the last match and they underperformed most of the games (with a team full of stars), and I'm French, tocard !!

_Pelle_ 9 years ago

Paris Saint-Germain 161 6982

I wont shut up and I have the right to give my opinion. If you dont like it maybe you should go elsewhere. This forum is free for anyone to express their views and Im not trolling. As for my comment, no where have I raised French team to the skies on every decisive win. And I still think that using this as an occasion to tell Messi is the best is to me hypocritical. And it's not about his performance this specific game.

Don_Willinger 9 years ago

messi has been let down by his team in a lot of matches i think everyone can agree his record 20 goals was the major factor in argentina qualifying.

MadridKilla 9 years ago

Barcelona 0 1244

No futbol player in the world can win the worldcup by himself, not even Messi. The fact that Argentina as a team sucks and Messi has to carry them is a huge burden. Despite all that, Messi creates chances, he takes advantages of opportunities, he is a visionary and above all, he is humble. . He is the greatest of all time and for anyone to dispute that, it's borderline schizophrenic.

_Pelle_ 9 years ago

Paris Saint-Germain 161 6982

Anyone claiming that is a biased fan. Thats exactly why ppl hates "fanboys". You cant disqualify others opinions and insult because you have another view. I wouldnt call Messi the best ever, simply becauwe the criterions for being the best are dubious. But he is definitely on of the best.

Golazo111 9 years ago

Chelsea, Mexico 70 2607

Ronaldo did the same vs Sweden and fans were saying the same. But Ronaldo was the captain of Portugal that won Euro at least, Messi needs to win this World Cup now.

RationalCogitator 9 years ago

There was a game against Brazil where messi flopped, and in that game, the whole team lacked structure from beginning to the end (I guess Messi can take some blame in that), else, every game that he played he was good. It was when he was out that his team performed badly.

Like previous match against Peru, Messi worked his ass off, people just look on the stats then judge accordingly, Messi still the Messi like previous match, just he switching diff role this time.
