Stoke City 2-0 Manchester City Result, Lineups & Stats (5 Dec 2015)

It must have been sweet revenge for Mark Hughes after his sacking by Man City. Money can buy you trophies, but it cannot ensure a victory every time; even against weaker & poorer opponents.

I'm sorry but I've got no sympathy for Mancity. The front 4 alone cost 160 million and they didn't have a single clear-cut chance. Deserved to lose by a bigger margin.

Stoke was better on all fronts for this game. Also, I feel this match needed Toure, Glichy and probably even young talent Kelechi Iheanacho (not Bony) into the starting mix!

all the millions man city spent and they cant beat stoke city- a team that its whole team is less expensive than one man city player? whats going wrong?

The embarrassing part is not only can't they beat Stoke, they were outplayed by Stoke, in every field of play.

Well, big money is one thing. But team chemistry is another. One thing that Pellegrini seems to confuse himself with.

bony is completely missing!! what a player!

za_in 11 years ago

stoke plays real direct football. whenever they find an opening, they pass the ball forward

Same with Liverpool (now with Klopp) and Tottenham. I've noticed that these teams possess the quality to finish Man City off like that. Young, stealthy players can outplay us like that :(

City need Yaya to hit top form..

Alexis 11 years ago

When is man city going to realise that demichelis is a shitty defender lol

LolWUT 11 years ago

More like Pellegrini rather than Man City. I think Demichelis and Pellegrini are secretly buttf*cking each other

It's almost impossible to fully grasp how important Toure is to this team.

Il bianconero 11 years ago

which is why they lost today yaya dips in form the whole team dips in form
and really city shouldnt be relying so heavily on one player after all the millions that theyve spent

It's funny with Toure. Many strongly criticize him for sluggish, ineffective plays but then when he proves to be excellent, all the "fans" and media pundits are temporarily enamored, making it look like they've always been fond of the guy no matter what. I personally believe he is slightly out of form and lacking vision currently. He is a great one for City, and will be honored if he retires there.

I rarely agree with Juve fans, but I totally agree with you Il Bianconero. @Chili Totally agree that's why I said it's almost impossible to fully grasp the impact he has on this team. Analysts are so inconsistent with their opinions on him and you add that to the fact that this squad has a galaxy of stars at it's disposal so you would think one player missing wouldn't make THAT much of a difference, but for better or worse Yaya is the glue that holds this team together.

I am so proud to be swiss!!

Jakob Mierscheid 11 years ago

What, because someone else who was born into the same nation by coincedence, you are proud? You don't seem to have a lot things to be proud of instead then...

LolWUT 11 years ago

Agreed. Nationalistic pride of this sort is useless
