Bayern played 71 min with 10 men ( Red at 20. ). Bayern don't need 11men, NEUER plays for 2 :). GG Aguero.

Great win! Very entertaining match. Loved it. Both teams were missing some great players which made it even more challenging.Aguero's spirit and desire to win was amazing. Neuer's nightmare...Lampard always do his job well whether it's defending midfield, central, or attacking. Genius midfielder.Roma VS Manchester City is going to be war!

A painful way to lose a game. Bayern didn't deserve to lose.

Well, i guess i saw different thing from what you guys saw, and easy give away double goals and of all teams... Bayern? Lol, you have to re-watch that match... someone messed up with our heads and made us believe Bayern can easily give away 2 goals in such critical time. There's a money bag somewhere but what i don't understand is why they made it look so cheap.

Aguero might well be the top striker in Premier League, respect and joy to watch. Unfortunately for ManC, Hart is crap and the weakest link.

Wow, really guys. What's there to celebrate? We gave away two goals in the last five minutes. And that was poor, I admit that. But before that we played 70 minutes with ten players and still managed to be the better side most of the time. City had exactly two shots on target this whole time. As the PL champion. And some guys here voting for top class and talking bout reaching the final? Well that is basically the problem about the premier league in the last few years. I really liked watching the PL between 2003 and 2009. Great players, great managing, great football. Nowadays, when I watch Arsenal vs. United it's just not. It's boring. When we don't give away that two goals in the last five minutes it's a whole different story which is told here. Only great team is Mou's Chelsea now.

61% possession, and yet coming second in shots (both on and off target), blocked shots, corners and crosses. The better side? Bayern were shit, by comparison, for all they hung onto the ball. I fear old Pep has failed to understand that the world has moved on since his days at the Camp Nou; they now know how to fight his style. Good for City; they proved the biased wankers wrong.

Oh, and isn't that, like, the 3rd time in 3 years that City have beaten Bayern, or something?

@Lodatz: relax Bayern were qualified for next round before the start of the match. It's Citys balls hanging over the sharp arrow. you should thank Alonso and Boeteng and Aguero to give a life line to City.

Sure. You should also thank Alonso for being the only player in the Bayern squad who could come up with something unexpected, hence your first goal. Aside from a free kick and a lucky bounce off Lewandowski's head, Bayern offered no threat.

@Lodatz, 1st off, good to see you around. 2nd, actually BM were doing splendidly, in 10 men. much more solid and organized compared to MC. but they became too much stubborn into holding the ball that bit more, which then inevitably caused those 2 mistakes. even in 11 men is difficult to control and contain a team like MC, you're right when you say that they (Pep) demanded too much for their possibilities. sometimes is better to look a bit more ugly, but avoid certain very risky situations.

Heya shpalman. Regarding mistakes.... yes, that's because Bayern Munich have players who are capable of making mistakes. That's kinda the whole point. If Bayern were better, then they would not have made those mistakes. Instead, City kept playing, kept probing, kept crossing, kept shooting and ultimately kept FORCING those errors to get the win. Lance is wrong, not matter how many fan-boys vote him up, or vote me down. City deserved to win this game, because they played better. You're right about Pep, but that doesn't make an excuse for the loss. The loss came because, on the day, City were better.

@Lodatz, what does that mean, players are humans, humans make mistakes so basically in general any player in any team can make critical mistakes. it's not that MC exploited any BM vulnerability here. they tried to do their game but if you look at the second MC goal and pause just before Alonso makes the wrong pass you can clearly see how the 2 teams are short and compressed in like 20 meters. that's most representative for how the whole 2nd half was played, and that's not how MC plays, that's how "BM" plays. now we also know that playing in that way, one wrong pass puts your opponent in front of the goal. and that's just what happened. now in this case it was poor decision making by both Alonso and the one who gave him the ball, but you know Pep: pass, pass, pass untill you find space;

can't find space? pass back and restart. but this is also why the argument "they have less shots" can't be really applied here. teams which favour posession (call it tikitaka, whatever) finalize only when there's like 95% possibility to score. they don't throw a cross or a whatever shot, they restart the build up from the back again. Robben could have delivered plenty of crosses, and yet he didn't. in english football you give a lot of value to the number of shots in a goal, meaning that if a team shoots plenty, it means that it created stuff, gameplay. that's not true, in modern football at least. in the BPL many times we see players shoot in the goal even in situations where they know that there's 90% probability it won't go in. they do it anyway. in the same situation a BM player

doesn't shoot, he passes back/whatever. now in both the situations nothing was created, there was no real chance or threat, yet the english guy comes out with 1 shot in the stats. does that prove that his team was better? no. and that's why i tell you that MC were not the better team in this match. BM were. why? because they imposed their game in 10 men. like Pep said, BM lost this match by themselves, and i completely agree.
