I just wanted to ask the same question, LOL, is he not the assistant coach.

he's (only) 35...

Forza Simeone #4-0#

Wow,so Real Madrid knows what getting wrecked is? lol

Interesting because AC Milan is leaving San Siro and it will finally belong to those who loved it and deserved it more.

Y do we have to compare

are you serious? obviously Kane

I might be biased but I'd still say Icardi by a long shot.

Coming from an Inter fan, Kane is better. English league is harder to score for a striker. If Icardi only want to go to Real or Barca and if he knows whats good for him then he should stay out of the EPL and not go to Chelsea.

obviously icardi

@Kermani_Cavani, Serie A is the most difficult league for a striker.

@shpalman, how so? i used to think so too but not any more. Every time a striker in Italy has a great season and get transfered somewhere else they don't do as well. Ex Cavani,Immobile, Balo,Lamela,Jovetic. At the same time Strikers who don't do AS well in Premier League become stars when they go to Italy. Ex Tevez, Gervinho. Players like Di Natale and Totti can score 10, 20+ goals in Italy when they are almost 40 y/o, but no way anyone do that in England, you need to be fit and on your game. Tevez is Serie A best Striker who is 31, but yet he didn't get picked for Argentina in WC.... that says alot. England is the toughest league to score, look at Falcao, best in Portugal, Spain, France, but not England. Enough about +1+2,why do you think Serie A is most difficult league for a Striker?

I can see Falcao coming to Serie a to revive his career because its easier to score in Serie A. He will become a superstar there just like tevez. If Falcao went to Serie A instead of Monaco or Man U, he would have became a legend. He would score so many goals if he played for Juve Milan or Inter.

@KERMANI, it's because of spaces and tactical approach. defences are still way tighter compared to other leagues, in Italy teams defend with more men in their box and attack with less men in the opponent's box. of course that varies by club. most of the people still goes into debates like "league A is better than league B", while they fail to acknowledge that in the last years there is been a lot of diversification which is bringing the european leagues to converge into some common standards when it comes to tactical approach, especially regarding the way of defending. that makes it more difficult when it comes to generalizations. it is more appropriate to analyze and single out clubs, and not leagues as a whole like we used to do.

(...) btw going back to the original topic, a couple of practical examples would be Mourinho and Simeone. they both have a very Italian kind of philosophy when it comes to defensive balance. now, while this kind of approach has always been common in Italy, and labeled as "boring" in Europe, is being accepted lately in a better way since Mourinho and Simeone implemented it successfully in both European and League contexts. in fact today we don't hear anymore about this approach being "boring", instead we would hear "impressive defensive performance". comparing players performances between leagues is quite futile since each season is different and there is a huge multitude of factors involved. i could name you Pellè, who was utter shite in Italy and yet very succesfull abroad, but yea.

I agree with everything you said, very clear analysis. Football now is more diverse then it used to be, we have many foreign mangers that bring in various styles of play both defensively and attacking to the top 5 ligas, which make it harder to compare leagues.. That being said, it is a very bold statement to say Serie A is the most difficult league for a Striker, which is the main topic. English league is the hardest imo because Strikers are always running and pressuring off the ball defensively, which means you need to be very fit in order to score. The Premier League's defensive tactics are good too, but not as good as Serie A I agree. I still think that its harder to score for a striker in the EPL. Its still very hard to compare.

If Serie A is the hardest league for a striker, then why don't all the top clubs, or wealthy in Europe like Madrid, Barca, Bayern, or even PSG want to sign top scorer for 2 years Carlos Tevez?(Also top Assists in Serie A atm)..If Serie A was so hard to score in, then these top clubs would sign him. But truth is Tevez is a great Striker. Even if a Striker is the best in Serie A, and I mean any Striker in this past 2-3 years, will not get bought by a top club, but instead will go to the Premier league to "prove himself" and his worth. When players loose there pace they go to Italy where everything is more technical, and when they are young they play in England, Although, I understand some Strikers abilities are suited to better in different leagues like Shevchenko or Henry.

yes to succeed in EPL you need to be strong physically, or very technical. for example the latter category of players has better chances in EPL compared to Serie A, because of spaces. a technical player can work around the physicality of the english league exploiting spaces past players, in Italy that is more difficult since most of the clubs play more tight tactically. a player like Tevez would still do good in EPL, and i'm sure that if he was 25, even retaining the pace of his present age, he would still be the target of many other big clubs. if you think, actually Tevez issues were always related to his moody character, and that's also the reason why he was not employed in his national team (issues with the past NT manager). take Alexi Sanchez, the guy learned football at Udinese :)

I agree man, great example as well using Alexis, he went to a top club from Udinese to Barca. I figured that Premier league is harder because they buy and they have all the best strikers like Diego Costa. Falcao, Aguero, and therefore there is more competition in Premier league for strikers then in Serie A. But I guess that doesn't justify that Premier league is the hardest league for a striker, just because they have the most money to buy the top players. LOL i was going to mention that Tevez didn't get picked for WC also, but obviously not because he wasn't good enough. Its his personality clashes, i mean the guy has a history. I wouldn't have taken the chance either if i was Sabella. He's better then Palacio, but because of the competition with Messi, Aguero, Di Maria etc it was dificult

I think they have a great shot in Europa this year. Hoping to see them win it so they can mark their place in Champions League next year

World class on his day buy extremely inconsistent usually.
