Some said Van Gaal was shopping for Wine during the game, nah, it is actually an advert on the teamsheet.

noob arsenal haters. your own legend Thiery Henry commented during half time break that it was a clear penalty. I laugh my heart out when i see so many arsenal fans doubting their own legend and saying the total opposite.

if you were the ref, you'll give the penalty, believe me. yes, when you see the replay, the ball didn't hit his hand. the problem is, he gave the ref a reason to blow the whistle. most pro-footballers knew that you better don't lean your body towards the ball with your hand close to your body. it'll looks like a handball. that's why most defenders put their hands at their back while defending in the box. anyway, 3 points that's all what matters. GGMU!

and sorry, I disagree with Roony's new placement.. He's a central midfielder through and through

rooney is a striker m8he is not a cntral midfielder. you know nothing about football

Kevin 10 years ago
how many goals does he have as a striker mate? He creates more than he scores these days.. He's a quality player.. most quality on man u.. a player with that vision is wasted waiting for through balls that man u's midfield seems to suck at btw

Palace were very unlucky to lose the game. United bossed the first half and Palace the second. A draw probably would have been a fair result. Honestly De Gea has saved United about (very rough estimate) 15 points this season. It doesn't say much for your season when your goalkeeper is by far and a way your best player. I honestly am not saying this because of the upcoming fixture vs Arsenal but United dont deserve to come 2nd. If anything that would just showcase how poor the league has become. Its only in the last 8-10 matches united have been playing well. Prior to that they were diabolical but still grinded out results. If united come second it wont say much for the BPL because it would just show you can play bad for 70% of a season and still be considered 2nd best in England

you're talking as if DDG is not part of utd.

no all im saying is that he's saved the team a hell of a lot. The rest of the team had been playing dreadful earlier in the season and he was putting in 10/10s most games. It doesnt reflect United being a great team if they scrape goals, are poor defensively and still get results because of De Gea. You have to admit their overall displays this season arent indicative of a second place team. Even if you look at last season Liverpool and Chelsea played remarkable and came 2nd and 3rd. It wouldnt say much about how the league is progressing if a team that has played poorly for the majority of the season, who have been dreadful defensively at times manage to come 2nd because of a keeper putting in worldies every week

I consider united one of the luckiest teams in recent years to be having De Gea in unbelievable form this season. In an alternate universe where we're not that lucky we could finish 8th-10th in the league.

These kind of comments really annoy me - "If you didn't have so and so player in your team you'd be f***ed!" Yes, well if my auntie had balls then she'd be my Uncle. The fact is United brought in DDG to save shots and be very good at doing that, and that is exactly what he is doing. Deserve has nothing to do with it - United paid for a very good goalkeeper, got one and are reaping the benefits having him in the team. This is how football works.

milk 10 years ago
^^^ that's fair enough. Yes United have a world class keeper and yes he is an integral part of the team. Fair play to them for that. I think you are being very subjective though. I don't like the whole 'one man team' statements either but it is different when it is a keeper. Keepers unlike other players don't really effect outfield play. A lot of people were calling Arsenal a one man team because of Sanchez's amazing performances earlier in the season. The fact remains though that the only reason he can play that well and effect games is the players around him either gave him the ball to score or finish the chances he gave them. Sanchez may have been the standout performer but it was still a team performance. United havent been a team however. They were poor outfield and saved by DDG

milk 10 years ago
sorry for such a long winded reply but to finish off as an outfield unit United have not been the 2nd best in the league and that why I said they don't deserve to be 2nd. I think you'd have to have your head stuck in the clouds to think differently. Disagree if you want but I think it was clear earlier on in the season when they were playing mindnumbing football that they weren't the 2nd best team in terms of outfield performances
