We have always had players with big personalities on the field, like Cantona, Keane, Vidic..They dint just play for United. They WERE United. Now the players seem to be playing for United just becoz they are getting payed for it. We have got the quality. We are missing that one personality that can gel the whole team together.

Rooney is a flawed captain. He is hardworking and passionate but needs to learn how to control his anger. Although he made a silly foul that got him a red card, he also scored a sublime goal that allowed Manutd to win the game. It would be silly to strip him off his captaincy based on this. Let's wait till mid season and judge his overall performance as a captain.
