Altidore is a BEAST for USA!!!

Actually I think the Nigerian Players were too careful not to get injured. If this game were to be replayed in the WC, Mikel would put in a better show than his toothless performance, while Moses and Mosa would definitely go on rampaging runs down the flanks

Roman 12 years ago

While this is true, Dempsey was doing the exact same thing.

I'm not a big fan of most Americans, but they have a decent team. They have one of the hardest groups ahead. Good luck to them!

braininahat 12 years ago

We appreciate the objectivity. Our team is decent. While I don't expect us to advance from the group stage, I think we have a fighting chance to get a draw from Portugal. We must beat Ghana, though, which we can't seem to do. Our first game is everything to us. It should be exciting, win, lose, or draw.

Scoreline flatters Nigeria. The US created more chances, better chances, and only a good game by Enyeama prevented a blowout. Nigeria's goal at the end made the score look respectable, but their attack was mostly toothless, and when their players started to get tired around the 70th minute, they began to make a bunch of mistakes.

The US should not delude themselves. They can't beat Ghana. Ghana is slightly better than Nigeria. I am Nigerian and know what I am saying.

You may be trolling but from what I saw today in England vs Honduras and this match here... I think you may actually be right...

I can honestly say that going into this WC and after this last showing, I am the most happy I've ever been with US soccer. I think we're ready to play with the big teams.

So happy to see Jozy back in form!! The U.S. played with a bit of flair, which was fun to see. Bring on the group of death. Team USA all the way baby!!!

Kwajo 12 years ago

Ghana is not Nigeria. We will beat USA again like we did in the last 2 world cups

Fowler 12 years ago

Despite all the hate USA gets, I think they have a good team, especially when going forward. If they beat Ghana they have a good chance against Portugal.
