history lesson for ya we did use to call it football until some harvard folks changed it to soccer by using "socc" part of association football and we really didnt give a rats ass cause back then footy was huge in USA. it is now but having called it soccer for so long its like why change ------------------------------------------------ the reason we call american football as football is because the regulation ball they use in official games is a foot long ball. after constantly saying "foot long ball" we just shorten it to football. and we do use our feet in american football. punting, kick off, free kick, on side kick and others so we do use our feet.

I too, am an american viewer. I've lived in England the past 4 years of my life and I've enjoyed EPL far before that. I'd like to say that I consistently check footyroom for highlights.
