Japan didn't play as good as they were in the WC 2010. The effect of playing without their two best defenders (Tulio and Nakagawa) also has an effect on their defense (The penalty started from the pass of their defenders before Kawashima kicked the ball to another defender in a rush). Meanwhile, players like Honda didn't play really good at this Asian Cup. Players has their time when they play good or bad, take Rooney for example.
One thing that makes me sad is that Kawashima got the red card in this game, the referee is indeed retarded. But w/e we say, the red card and penalty was given. Hopefully, we won't see any referee like this in the next game.
