How did the French remain with 11 players on the pitch? First Sakho elbows Antonio Valencia in the face and gets away with it, then Valencia deservedly gets a red card for a bad tackle, but then Giroud elbows another Ecuador player in the face and gets away with it as well. Lucky France..

Even if France didn't score in this match ,we can see that this team have some players on the bench , just tell me if another team can change 6 players and still dominated their oppenent . We had injuries and yellow cards ,Deschamps kept them for the next stage. Until now France still underated buy people , let see when Cabaye , Valbuena , Debuchy , Evra , varane , Giroud will play together again .

Dominguez was always at the right place at the right time, good goal keeping. Ecuador should have pushed a little more to score earlier. It's funny they created more chances when they were down to 10 than when they had 11.

We missed Valbuena today

Fathor 12 years ago

I feel sorry for Ecuador, they just shouldn't have lost against Switzerland, that was fatal.

lumpur 12 years ago

Last second they lost Swiss is a really lucky Team seriously

You call that lucky? The dude got fouled, rolled on the ground and still stood up, and continued running! Props to that player for not giving up which led to the goal. That man needs some respect because other players would cry like babies. so no, it was not lucky.

It's Ecuador's own fault. They could've scored and win in the last minute vs Switzerland but the Ecuador player didn't take the shot, he lost the ball instead and from that counter-attack came Switzerland's winning goal. In this match too, their GK was actually WASTING TIME. Even the ref gave him a warning. In their last attack, they also left their GK and 2 defenders in the back. They played it too safe and didn't risk enough. They had the players but not the right mindset therefore Switzerland, who doesn't give up even when losing 5-0 and still look for goals, deserve to be in the round of 16, in my opinion.

I just want to say... fcuk all the fcuking 0-0 games. There must be some sort of record

Mike 12 years ago

Valbuena is really crucial to the team, but it was a good time to give Schneiderlin and Digne a chance to play. Pogba was cursed today, couldn't score to save his life. Well played Ecuador.

Brazil2014 12 years ago

France is going down after 1/8, because France football team is not strong enough to go beyond 1/4

Moi 12 years ago

You think Brazil is strong, seriously ?

Mike 12 years ago

Brazil won't beat Chile without refs helps, I promise you.France has a good chance vs Nigeria, but then comes Germany ( if everything goes as expected ).
