Argentina made TWO major mistakes in this game. First, Sabella's 5-3-2 formation which was totally cowardly and unnecessary. When he changed the formation back to 4-3-1-2 in the second half we saw what Argentina was capable of. Secondly, Argentina was too complacent when the score was 2-0 and it almost got them in trouble. We should've looked to finish the match with 3rd goal. I have to say, Bosnia is a surprisingly strong team and they will qualify to the round of 16 with little trouble.

I choose to support the country where Croats have more equality. So i was supporting Argentina.

Argentina must improve. That was poor. If wasn't for Messi goal or that unlucky early own goal from Bosnia they would have found it hard to win. ). Messi had to drop deep every time to pick the ball. That's not where you want Messi to be. He's going to be ineffective all night. You want him against the defenders and NOT the opposition's strikers, midfielders, AND defenders. That's not his job.

The truth is that Bosnia played average, lots of wrong passes and most of the time without idea. I felt like they had more respect for Argentina than they actually deserve. Anyway, this is first game, lets hope we can win other two!

This game is the perfect example of Argentina's weaknesses. They play with 5 defenders in the first half and their attack is horrible. Then, they change to 4-3-3 in the second half and their attacks improves a lot, but guess what they conceded....

With that powerful front side, I wish more goals for Argentina.

The most deadly striker in the world? don't make me laugh

jshsjxvsb 12 years ago

Lol huehue who u think is the most deadly striker, Ronaldo? At least Messi scoreda goal, portugal got drubbed 4-0 by gemany, so stfu

theDON 12 years ago

currently the most lethal players in theworldare ronaldo, messi, suarez, robben, mueller van persie....so yes ronaldo is one of the most deadly strikers with all due respect to bosnia but comparing bosnia and germany is like comparing the size of the moon with the suns. I thik both messi and ronaldo will becoming stronger even though messi/argentia are 100% sure to pass the groupstage and ronaldo still doesnt seem fit

I think messi wasnt that bad in this game (he wasnt rly great either).i am disappointed by di maria, agüero and higuain. They are such worldclass players, but in some situations they couldnt even stop the ball properly. The reason why Argentina improved their game in the socond half was Fernando Gago. He has to start in every game for Argentina from now on. mascherano is just not the right player to play as the only dm.

Arg. looked disorganized and without idea, Bosnia was actually better in 1st half...Messi nowhere to be seen but that goal was pure class, in the end, fair result. Congrats to Bos. and their first WC goal! :)

All the talk will be about Messi as usual, but Miralem Pjanic was the man of the match for me..

babo_ruco 12 years ago

agree, he showed talent and skills, most of his passes were accurate, he tried hard to get the ball moving from defense to offense.

Despite that goal, Messi's performance really awful, hope he will doing well in next match.

messi played well and bosnie is very good team

Football Fan+First+then+Barca+Fan 12 years ago

Messi played just fine...nothing outstanding (apart from the goal)...he was walking on the pitch the whole time...lowest work rate in the WC so far...he was not putting pressure on the Bosnia Defense which made them pass freely and penetrate through the middle
