I think he wanted himself to get sacked, because he knows he can be hired at a bigger club.. maybe Dortmund or Barcelona. Laudrup has always looked for new opportunities. When he explained why he moved from Barcelona to Real: Because Barcelona had a team that season which would come back exhausted from a World Cup and that Real Madrid was more hungry and likely to be the team of the next season... nothing about loyalty to Barcelona, just a passion for winning football games and setting high standards. I think he's good at what he does, and plays an attractive game.. but at the same time, he's also a cynical sort of career footballer.
