Aston Villa might have lost the match, but this perfomance only goes to show that they'll be a threat throughout the whole season.

Mata shouldn't play on the right side, i like to see him behind the striker. he is the best player in the EPL on this position

WOW!! 3 Chelsea defenders were marking Benteke when he received the pass... It proved how deadly he is in front of goal... great game

Referees spoiling the game..Its high time to turn towards new technology, 4th referee analyzing the match through a screen and communicating wiz the referee on the pitch!

Benteke is 10000000 times better then Lukaku even in the national teams.Benteke (15-6) has played fewer games but has scored more then Lukaku (21-3).There both top class but imo Benteke rules!

didders 13 years ago

Benteke for now is better, indeed. But the statistics are a bit misleading. First of all, Lukaku started playing for the national squad of Belgium when he was 16,5 years old (usually as a substitute) Benteke when he was 19,5. (So Lukaku as a youngster couldn't manage to score a lot of goals). Second, Lukaku is still 2 years younger than Benteke. He probably will make more progress than Benteke will do.

Our strikers are not scoring ... lukaku is the only promising one

Lukaku should start every match. Torres and Ba should be the subs alternatively.

ben 13 years ago

benteke is smart for staying and not overrating himself so quickly

oscar and hazard is on fire! and ivanovic all i can say is, this is the advantage of having a fan as player in your team

demba ba killed chelsea tactics to day.. he played very very poor...

Look at the number of offside runs he made! He seems to be a misfit to our playing style.. wrong signing!

Nameless 13 years ago

Yes, he played poor and then everybody said torres is shit but ba is really shit

ben 13 years ago

he's use to the over the top crosses which is why should have just stayed where he was

noone 13 years ago

A player who deserved red card, scores an offside goal and the referee doesn't give penalty when it was pure handball and if it was on other side the case would have been reversed. All of it because they are playing against a poor aston villa side..

ahmed 13 years ago

why is chelsea the only team playing today? any ideas?

CFC509 13 years ago

the game was moved because of the Super Cup (which chelsea are in)

I was there tonight sitting above the managers - they were arguing then chatting like mates all night - pictures in media make it look a lot worse than it was (Morinho & Lambert) . Benteke gave Ivanovic a rough time of it too - think a red would have been harsh. However, it was a clear clear handball at the end but the ref bottled it, We were lucky tonight, Villa look strong.
