Italy

England standards are just not good enough. Their stamina was even worse. When one of their players dropped from cramps, no English players had any energy to go help one of their own even though he was down a full 2 minutes. It took 2 Italian players to help. When their left wing was under Italian attack in second half, it wasn't a midfielder that tackled him. Sterling had to run the full 80 yards back to stop the guy. Italy attacked constantly down the right wing sending in cross after cross(in which Balotelli scored the winner) yet Hodges did nothing to plug the hole. A pretty embarrassing piece of tactical football or rather the lack of it. Credit to Sterling for having enough skills, stamina and audacity to have a go at the Italians.

Balotelli: "Why always me?" --Because you are that good...

the biggest mistake from the beginning is putting Welbeck!! shit!! please Hodgson if you wanna win don't put Welbeck!! put Lallana or Barkley!!

Guys breaking news: Rooneys corner is the biggest joke of the world cup

ohhh My!!! that free kick from Pirlo! such a pity the ball didn't go in!

beautiful cross from Rooney.... a perfect touch by Sturridge

daymmmm pirlo,if only the freekick converted to goal.and where's the juventus haters?they (pirlo and marchisio) showed us their class bro

It could've gone either way but props to Italy and England for providing good attacking football.

GERRARD IS SHIT

what happens when liverfool players dominate the england team?? they lose!!! especially the loser captain gerrard!! loserfools lol..

good win, however Italy doesnt have to boast too much as we have beaten a mediocre team.

England has talent and great player, they just don't have the class, composure that Italy has

england plays great for me. just need some luck. italy is more to defensive

Man I hate English media they so hype up their teams like they are world beaters. Chill out guys Rooney Gerrard and Co would not even make on the bench in Seria C teams and Spanish B teams let alone top teams in Europe. They talk and talk and talk but cannot back it up with a result fuck off. No Michael Dawson, Mark Noble, Andy Carroll, A. Cole, J. Defoe, A. Johnson, F. Delph, and last Gareth Bale.

These highlights are rubbish. Where is sterling's long distance effort at the start of the game and jagielkas clearance off the line?

Italy, they just know how :D

i Don't get why people are slagging off England. To be honest England could have won themselves and those hypocrites would have been hiding. Rooney had a glorious chance towards the end and Sturridge in the first half could have scored if the ball was 4 or 5 inches lower when De Rossi blocked Welbeck's cross. Also Sirigu did well to save Henderson's shot early in the first half. England looked more dangerous but Italy was tactically more set.

Pirlo The Architect !!!

For me the staring 11 for England should be(4-4-2)HartJohnson(not the best option but no one else can do better) Cahill Jagielka ShawLallana Henderson Barkley(Milner) Sterling(Ox)Welbeck Sturridge

Hope to see Shaw, Lallana, Barkley to be in the starting 11 next few games. Baines, Rooney, Gerrard are all good players, but they are getting old and slow, the pace of the game can sometimes caught them. If they don't perform well enough, then give the youngsters a chance! Oh, last but not least, although I'm an Arsenal fan, I have to say, WTF was Wilshere doing there? He has done nothing but giving the ball away, from the first minute he's been put on the pitch, he just looked confused and not part of the team. I hope Roy Hodgson can see that.
