Those 2 posts were really Belgium's best chances. Right after those 2 posts Colombia had chances to score another 2 goals but Jackson Martinez finished the chances poorly, especially that 1-on-1 vs Mignolet.

Coffee for Belgium 13 years ago

In South America, at the moment, Colombia is considered to be at least the 2nd best national team OVER Brazil and this is why.

it´s not fair to say that belgium is overhyped. for such a small country they are doing very well. nobody can expect that they win every game now.

It was a friendly, we missed some key players like Kompany, we missed the opportunity to score several times, Colombia deserves the win, but actually, I don't really care about that defeat, the important is to be competitive at the world cup. I don't give a shit about the friendlies we'll have before the WC.

If u don't give a shit then why u r shitting here...

Mourino is incredible, he is got the "fighter" face even as players observer!!

maybe that's just his look of concentration?

What was mourinho doing in the stands? Scouting for Falcao, or watching Hazard?

Pekerman 13 years ago

He already knows how Hazard plays. I think he might've been there to watch James Rodriguez or Falcao? I would say Benteke too but he can already see him play in the Premier League.

Caesar 13 years ago

Mou is extremely interested in Falcao…he wants to take him for £60 million in January!

Let's be fair, both teams are really good, Belgium is shinning in Europe while Colombia is doing their part in South America, excellent players and of course great football development during the last 4 years. Even though Belgium had a really good start, as it is expected from the home team, Colombia's coach Jose Pekerman knew how to read their strategy and made the necessary adjustments having James playing closer to Cuadrado and Falcao...... Colombia knew how to read the game as they improved along the game, while Belgium was rushing a little too much trying to scored.

You are right but it is also not fair to call Colombia lucky when they had many chances, played good football and won fairly .

Belgium had chances as well, but missed them (I think we hit the post two or three times). Colombia finished their chances, that's the only difference today.

I guess you forgot the two header chances that Benteke missed in the first half (and the one where Benteke is pushed from behind in the penalty area when he would have scored otherwise)

kill bill 13 years ago

no no no. colombia was a class above belgium and that's it. no shame though, guarin falcao j rodriguez cuadrado armero, these are no generic names, no shame in being outplayed by this bunch.

You forgot 2 shoots on the crossbar by Fellaini and Mertens, Belgium had chances to score more goals!

TheTruth 13 years ago

No surprise here. Relative to their size, South America is a better footballing continent than Europe.

The last few world cups showed different. But wc2014 is probably gonna have a South American winnen. A Europian never won a world cup on South American soil.

germany and spain are the best teams in world and they are not from south america. brazil are among the favourites, because they will play at home.

colombia better than brazil ? do you smoke something?

Colombia will be the dark horse of the 2014 Brazil World Cup

Billy 13 years ago

Colombia was lucky with some goal attempts, but they deserved a very good result, although Belgium deserved a little more than lose 0-2 ... In general, great performance by both of them. As far as I'm concerned Belgium and Colombia would be the Darkhorses of the next world cup!! ...

Roman10 13 years ago

lol what? Lucky? True, Belgium played great in some instances of the game and had some chances but Colombia deserved the win this match. Colombia had chances to score more goals. This result is completely fair. And Colombia was the AWAY team as well, remember?

Mattias 13 years ago

That goal was all James not Falcao TonyLFC....................

GeorgeS Best 13 years ago

Footyroom should show attempts on target as well instead of showing evey goal 10 times, especially when there's only two goals in a game. Congrats Colombia. Hopefully we'll have our revenge at WC. 1st?

Leo 13 years ago

Great match. Both sides had chances. But Colombia took them. I love Cuadrado, Falcao, and James. World Class
