Shambolic referring. Red card is questionable but it's true it's the last defender taking out the forward. Not arguing against it even though there was not that much contact. But the second goal. Unbelievable. How can you not call 4 players all offside and participating in the action? And not offside by a little. Shameful.

Ok when there are two linesman one on the side and the other by the goal and they still fail to call the offside , i simply can not think of anything else other than the game was fixed . You have to be really a retard really mentally challenged or know nothing about football to miss those fouls that happen in front of you . It pisses me off because my favorite sport still suffering from bad refereeing and corruption . I want video technologies . I do not want to argue with my fellow football fans about decisions . I want to argue about tactics or formation or individual performances or management but not about fcking decisions that favor one or the other team ! How stressful it is to see this happening in 21century with all this technologies to help get this decisions right .

The basel players literally did some dumb trick and failed. how can u be running away from your own area in anticipation of a free kick when u should be attacking the ball? @Skrong, It was an offside goal and that's for sure, but I'm talking about the play itself. Nobody does this in professional level.@joethedrumma, just wait two weeks and you will see.@AZ, it doesn't matter how you start, but how you finish. Chelsea finished top of the group and that was our objective. Your problem is with Schalke who beat you twice home and away and got you kicked out of the competition. Stay humble!

I don\'t want to come off as a sore loser, but it\'s simply sad that a small team like Basel loses like this... If Ivanov\'s foul was a red card, then Höwedes\' rugby tackle on Streller a minute before sure as HELL was a red card es well. Playing with one man down for 60 minutes is obviously no walk in the park. And the second goal was an absolute disgrace. I\'m not saying Schalke didn\'t deserve the win, I\'m simply saying Basel didn\'t deserve to lose. Not like this!

The red card was given because he was the last defender. In Hoewedes case there was another defender, so he got a yellow card.

That is true, but still Höwedes' tackle was extremely stupid and harsh. There are lots of refs who would have given a red card even if the foul was in midfield. Anyways I'm really disappointed about this unnecessary loss and I just hope that Basel do well in the Europa League!
