good play but we have to score more

Plzen played really well: they had a few chances and could have got a draw.

Anyone saying "1-0? Bayern should show more dominance" even watched the game. Plzen's GK was superb today. 1-0 or 7-0, Plzen was no where near getting any result today. Bayern was far superior.

Manzukic doesn't celebrate this goal because he knows that no matter how crucial or how many he scores he'll never secure a spot in the starting 11 cause Pep never plays with a true 9 or classic striker leading the attack he perfers to play false 9 with Muller or Gotze. Same reason why Pep is rejecting the buy of Lewandowski. If I were Manzukic I would request transfer. Wasted talent and the same will be with Lewandowski if he goes to Munich.

That's simply not true. Mandzukic is excelling at Bayern this year, and is leading the team in goals scored. Pep has also changed his tactics to incorporate a 'true 9' striker, so your argument is flawed. Mandzukic is crucial to the team and everyone knows that.

Petar 13 years ago

Milanista89 is right. Mandzukic is very important to Bayern bayern not just for his goalscoring abilities but his work ethic- his high pressing and buildup play is phenomenal. However, ever since Pep arrived at Bayern he hasn't fully embraced Mandzukic, and numerous times Mandzukic has come off the bench and scored important goals but still hasn't cemented that starting spot that he had under Heynckes. This isn't the first time he has scored a goal off the bench and not celebrated, it's pretty obvious that he's trying to get the message accross.

Yogi,Germany 13 years ago

Milanista89 the reason he did not celebrate is because he is showing respect to Plzen since the game before was total domination by Bayern. I'm sure if Pep wanted to win big,it would've been total obliteration. And your statement about Mandzukic is simply false,go research before you state something false that you don't know. Having a good rotation of players is better than not having any one to rotate to like Milan. So think before you make a false statement.

Anyone that has watched Bayern this season and knows Peps philosophy know he's phasing out the lead striker. This is what they brought him in to do evolve the team.
