Yohan Cabaye will be flying out to Paris in the morning to complete his 19m move to PSG. Both clubs confirm the deal.

This is a reliable source.

What are your guys thoughts on this? I think they got him at a pretty cheap price IMO..

Good news for PSG, and he is available for CL.

Poor Newcastle. They're going to have a tough time without him.

I think the price is right maybe 6 million more on top , but I would not rate him higher than 30 . Even 30 is already little overpriced.

Yeah Moyes Missed out big on a great signing .

I don't think he costs anymore than £15-18m tops. The only reason they managed to get that much was because it was PSG.

Don't get me wrong, I think he is an excellent player but it seems that people have let the madness of on or 2 transfer fees obscure their valuation of the rest of the world's players.

Anyway, I hear Newcastle are close to signing Luuk De Jong from Gladbach. He was a previous target of theirs as well.

@Dynastian
We never tried to sign Cabaye. And if we did, he would have just been a short term fix. So no.

Cabaye is one of the most well rounded players in EPL . He does 50% of work that Newcastle does on the field. TOday against Norwich they have really missed Cabaye .
Luuk De Jong is open for a move and certainly if Newcastle wish they will be able to sign him.

Newcastle bought so many French players to sell them back 2 years later? Seriously? Shame on you Newcastle!

Cabaye is a class midfielder and a champions league level player. He would have been great at Manu.

PSG could have payed more here, what did Newcastle win here ? Selling one of their best player for a decent amount, i think its not enough for them to rebuild a strong midle.
The reason why is something specific about his contract clauses...

Cabaye is probably going to play a match or two per season for PSG, he is like the 5th mf choice for the team... He'll be a great benchwarmer.
