In May 2001, his uncle, Harry Redknapp , left the club by mutual consent after seven years in the role. His father, Frank, also left the club and Lampard, under the pressure of being known as "Frank Lampard's son" and the poor treatment of his father by West Ham, decided to move to another club. He left West Ham United for Chelsea for £11 million in June 2001, the Hammers having previously declined a £15 million joint bid from Aston Villa for Lampard and Frederic Kanoute.

"I tell you now, you know you can see it in front of all these people, I tell you, without any shout of a doubt, there will be no comparison with what Frank Lampard will achieve in football and what Scott Canham will achieve in football."

634 appearances, 209 goals, 120+ assists, 3 EPL titles, 1 CL title, 1 EL title, 4 FA Cups, and 2 League Cups later... (all just with Chelsea)

Harry Redknapp stands correct. One of the greatest English players to ever grace the game.

@dynastian98

Yes , super Frank . I started this thread just to remind people especially CHelsea fans that we still have our legend who should be back on against Stoke City .

Not get to carried about new signings . Just remember and be grateful Lampard is still with us .
