A captain has to be the one that can handle the entire team with his leadership. Thiago Silva is perfect for that role. Having Neymar as the captain is just as nonsense as having Messi or Ronaldo as captains.

Having Messi or Ronaldo as captain is pretty non-sense at this moment for me too. But Silva is definitely not perfect for that. At least I dont think so. I used to think so though.
Brazilian captain should be Thiago Silva, Argentine captain should be Javier Mascherano, and Portuguese captain should be Moutinho.
Ronaldo, Messi, and Neymar are excellent players, but none of them are captain material.

Agreed, At PSG He is treated like a diva, he chose first Alex ahead of Mamadou Sakho as a partner and im sure he influenced David Luiz move.
Dunga had to rebuild the Seleçao, after being destroyed in the world cup, he had to change a new captain and bring some new players, any coach would have done the same and Silva should be already happy he is still in the team. He was the captain against Germany.
World class player nontheless.
Okie, as for PSG, he's definitely not a captain, while he threatened to leave so many times and has his contract negotiated. Especially when Zlatan runs the show and remembered for his lead.
For Brazil, why you guys keep saying he is? After the thrash, leaders (including coach and captain) have the biggest blame, that's why they are captains. Im well aware of the team sport thingy, but everything needs a leader, the leader role sparks more when the team is in difficult time. Silva FAILED ALL THE WAY!
To me Neymar is even a better leader, he's nice, ok a bit diving crap, and he also drags his team mentality up.

There is a big difference between being considered a club captain and a team captain. In United there was Giggs who was the club captain and Vidic who was the team captain but the role is very different. Rooney now may have some leadership in him and despite behaving like a diva with the club in some occasions he might just have what it takes to be the captain. (we just dont have anybody else for that role).
Thiago silva is definitely a team captain for Brazil and PSG maybe not a club captain as he may not have the best relationship with the club or attitude towards it. Neymar Messi and Cristiano cant be leaders because they dont have that in them like other players in their squad. Thiago Silva wasnt even in the 7-1 defeat so he shouldn't be the one to blame.
@Tuanis sorry my bad, icompletely forgot his suspension. But he was booked stupidly against Colombia because he blocked Ospina taking a kick, in a world cup. That reduced their chances drastically considering he was the main reason Luiz could go forward and being free, with the bavarian CB they failed miserably against Germany.
His press conferences arent a captain press, and he refused to shoot in PK shoot outs against Chili, shooting a PK is very hard in a world cup played at home, but if you are the captain of Brazil, you never run from responsability, he shouldhave facen it.
All this to say that it wasnt his only responsability, but Brazil clearly lacked a real leader on the field...
Saw this on the news and it's exactly what I've been thinking for a long time. No hate to him, he's just not the right guy.
After the recent even and especially after Neymar handed Silva back the armband, I thought: man, it was understandable for him to be the captain but after the worldcup, Neymar's choice is absolutely endorsed.
In PSG, with all due respect, I always thought Zlatan is the captain, even when I watch them play and Silva wears the armband... I unconsciously assume Zlatan is.
People even talk about how Silva threatened to leave and ask for more in his negotiation, (similar to Rooney though)...
