hopefully not...
I don't think we can judge this yet, @Marcus. It is far too early, only 7 games has passed. We can guess this around matchday 25 or 30. I predict that Chelsea won't remain invincible. That Arsenal squad was stacked, and this Chelsea squad doesn't compare to it. Besides, Chelsea have quite a bit of competition in City and the CL, so I doubt it. But we'll see. If they manage to do it, then congratulations to Jose and his men, they will deserve it no doubt.
we don't need to be invincible, but to win EPL is our main priority and right now its very tough to be unbeaten for whole tournament, likes of mancity squad and also some defensive capable teams like palace, stoke, villa at away make it more tougher
imo, 1 lose and 37 wins is way better than 15 draws and 23 wins
Tell us why do you think Chelsea can repeat Arsenal's achievement or why they can't ?
Here is my take on this
It will be very difficult for us to repeat Arsenal's invincible season . There are many factors to this . IMO Scheduling of matches are tough to work with whole season and other competitions that top club is usually in are making things tougher , the quality of Arsenal side ( mature world class squad ) , quality of EPL mid and bottom teams and competitiveness is different to that season .
Arsenal Invisibles in 2003 - 2004 scored 73 goals through out the whole seasons . For the past 5-6 years , roughly about 73 goals ,3 more or 3 less , are benchmark to get 4th place . Now you have to score at least 80+ to challenge for epl title and to win .
Our striker Diego Costa will have to exhale to new heights . Thiery Henry was goal machine and pulled 30 of goals that season . Costa must match it .
And Eden Hazard will have to emulate Pires or even exceed him . Goals are very important .
Arsenal's goal scorers in 2003 - 2004
Then Arsenal had a combination of very mature midfield that consisted of Patrick Viera ( WC winner and domestic winner who knows how it is done ) same goes with Denis Bergkamp , Pires who are deadly passers and could unlock any defense and when technical game is not the plan against opponent , they could play very rough and stop opposing team from playing their game . Well, so far Chelsea are unlocking tight defenses and can play technical and rough up on any opponent , however , we just recently got out of the transition and finally found missing pieces together .
Arsenal were just incredibly fortunate to bring together a group of phenomenal footballers who all simultaneously hit their peak and shared an almost telepathic cohesion.
And again quality of other mid and bottom teams have changed dramatically . It won't be a big surprise for you if next week bottom team defeats top team ( Chelsea perhaps ) . Last year , Chelsea seasons unbeaten home record was ended by Sunderland , team that was in bottom 3 at the time . So , we can expect anything from any team .
WE RESEMBLE ARSENAL, BUT IT IS TOO EARLY TO SAY . We have to kick the full gear and see if Costa can stay fit and Hazard and CO keep impressing . Scoring goals and keeping solid defense.
What are your thought on this ?
