Manchester United, Japan 47 1894

So the candidates are Ribery,Ronaldo and Messi...In my opinion I guess Ribery will win it because he was the main player with Bayern, which has won 3 titles this year...

No No!
Leo,Cristiano and Ribery are candidates for the award that Iniesta won Last year not Ballon D'or.
Uefa Best Player in the europe.

Quite frankly, Ribery deserves BOTH the UEFA Best Player in Europe and the FIFA Ballon d'Or.

If either of those go to Messi, we can safely assume that FIFA is at the point of no return in idiocy.

Ballon D'Or is based on Individual performances.
Ribery didnt play that good in the most games. It was Kroos and Muller who were shining for Bayern the first 5 months or so.
The last 3 months Both Ribery and Robben started playing in a higher standart.
Cristiano,Leo,Cavani,Vidal,Pirlo,Mata,Hazard,Reus were great through the biggest part of the season so they can be Candidates for D'Or.And then Ribery for all what he achieved with the club

Ribery deserves it, hands down.

@Dynastian if Ronaldo wins any of those awards, I can sfely assume you will be doing the gangam style

LOL, maybe, but in my heart I wouldn't be happy. Ronaldo has not deserved any Ballon d'Or besides 2008. He got what he deserved then. And that's that.

2007 was all Kaka's,
2009 was rightfully Messi's.
2010 should've been Sneijder's.
2011 was Messi's.
2012 ought to have been Iniesta's.
...and 2013 should go to Ribery.

you guys the year is not finished yet!!
and Messi is getting better and obviously Ronaldo as well too, as of now Ribery deserves it.
But I'm gonna say it is going to be really close one between Ribery and Messi
since this is an individual award, I'm go with Messi because Ribery is nowhere near Messi's level

^ Messi only won 1 trophy this season. Ribery won 3. And when it was Messi vs. Ribery, Ribery shone more.

It is also the latter half of the season (first half of calendar year) which is measured more in the Ballon d'Or, so Ribery has one hand on the award already.

@Dynastian they say that the 2010 shoukd have gone to Xavi or Iniesta, because of the world cup and club success.

Actually, Barca's only club success in 2010 was the La Liga trophy, and Inter won the treble, so that puts Sneijder ahead of both. All three led their teams to the WC final, but Sneijder was joint top scorer of that WC edition, so that gives him a huge boost as well (also remember that Spain were a slightly better team than the Netherlands back then). So personally, I felt that 2010 should've been

  1. Sneijder
  2. Xavi
  3. Iniesta

I dont think winning the treble has a lot of effect.. is how you perform and you help your team while winning the tittles, winning the treble is not a one man job, winning the treble would help the coaches get award for coach of the year but winning the Ballon D'or involves consistency and alot of goals and assists, and helping your team win.

@WayneRooney

Then you've just proven me correct. Sneijder helped his team to the treble, and his national team to the WC final.

And if you think that goals and assists will win a player the Ballon d'Or, then Cannavaro will be the last defender to ever win it.
