Varane.

I hope we could sign Varane next year, him and Zouma would boss the defense. They rarely make mistakes.

Don't really rate Mangala at the moment hasn't had that game where he has really dominated the defence. Undoubtedly Varane is a beast in defence and Real are lucky to have him.

Whatever happened to our long time target Matheus Doria? I also rate him as high as Varane and Zouma.

Doria was signed wit, without the authorization of Bielsa, by Mareseille club president, while Bielsa before signing with Marseille gave a list of 5 players for them to sign, they signed none and on top signed Doria completely unknown to him, he choosed to sacrify him a way to say to the president that he is the sportive boss and OM direction should follow him.

Doria spent whole season in the bench, got 0 match, no friendly, no cup game, nothing, he is loaned now in Brazilian league.

Phil Jones cant be better than Barta for exemple.

Wow that's sad. He looked like a very promising youngster and we almost signed him. Hopefully he will get a bit of luck to move to a big club before his career get ruined.

I think Doria is slightly overrated.

Phil Jones is a quality defender who has done very well in big matches domestic and europe , he just needs quality partner . Plus , he constantly gets exposed by full backs and has to shift out of his position to cover . When Van Gaal fixes those issues things will be much different .

Laporte, Zouma and Varane are a class above the rest..... and interestingly they're all French.
