What has happened to Barcelona?

I dont watch much of Barcelona but they dont seem the same team like 2-3 years ago when they won the champions league easily . Last year they got blitzed 7-0 by Bayern Munich and are slowly slipping away from the top in La liga after losing 3-1 to Real sociedad and 1-0 To valladolid. I still rate Barcelona in the top 5 teams in the world right now but this is one of the worst Barcelona's in recent years. Messi does not look like the same player 3 years ago and Xavi and Iniesta are ageing and are losing their touch.

Guardiola left and after that they had to change their menager again you know. But They will be back in their form I guess. It's similar to ManU but not that bad :D They have real Top class players so they'll get better .

Anyway In my opinion this year Real Madrid will win the league.

If you only watch Barcelona from highlights, don't judge the players so easily.

Xavi can still be a dictating force in the match. Just watch his last match against City.

Iniesta is still an amazing player (his wife recently had a miscarriage, so go easy on him. A player can't play the same on the pitch when he has tragedies in his personal life), but the forwards in front of him do not make the same runs. There is no one to pass to for either Andres or Xavi. The Barcelona forwards have basically lost the flair and creative diagonal runs that they had a few years ago. Let's be honest here, Pedro and Alexis are great players, but nowhere near Villa, Messi, Eto'o, Ronaldinho, Larsson, or Ibrahimovic. And as for Neymar..... well, he can score a hat-trick against the great South Africa, but can't even score a tap in against relegation-zone Valladolid.

And Messi has had injury problems, as we all know, and has been back to his best. The problem for me lies not with Messi, but with the other forwards. There is no creative runs for Messi to pass onto. Messi's game revolves around him making a run, going past 3-4 defenders, slipping the ball through to a winger, and then running on to the winger's low cross to tap in an easy goal. If there is no one to pass to, Messi is forced to sprint and shoot, which isn't very successful when you have to go past 4 players then shoot from 20-25 yards out.

Barcelona haven't yet lost the league. It's their immense self-belief that they have lost.

Real Madrid will win the league and I think Bayern will play Real Madrid in final if they dont face each other in the quarter or semis finals which will be a really contested game.

the time when barcelona was at its best and at the absolute top of the world was after ronaldinho and ibra and larsson and eto'o. And pedro was a huge part of that team. The only missing player from that period is david villa.

I don't watch barcelona so I won't make assumptions but when you're at the top, you can only go down. You can't expect barcelona to be the best team in the world forever. Just like you can't expect spain to win every world cup and european cup in the future.

Like I said before, after 2008-09 (all six trophies won), the question people had wasn't, "How long can they keep this up?".

The real question was, "Will they be able to do it again?".

We have many internal issues relax, if we finish second of the league behind Madrid this season is not a failure, and we are mainly qualified for CL quarters unless there is a miracle and already reached Copa Del rey final...
Dont compare us to United, we have already won supercopa against Atletico and i have faith we can win something more...
We are in better shape than all English teams, only Real Madrid and Bayern did better than us so we are far from being in crisis.
With Messi in an exceptional average form ( still world class ) and actual amazing Madrid form, we did pretty good until now but its not over.
Real Madrid fans can congratulate themselves after winning the Clasico, not before.
I think we will win Copa Del rey in Misatalla, we cant let you get both trophies even in bad shape :).
