The British style of the game always gave him a lot of space and time while attacking to pull off fancy dribbling like that.

Not only has he changed his dribbling style since coming to Spain, but he's been forced to. Spanish football involves a crowded penalty area, which prevents players from being able to find space to dribble like that. That's why Bale and Ronaldo have both stopped dribbling almost entirely. If either of them go back to play in England again, the emphasis on offense will surely give them the time and space to pull off fancy tricks and skills again.

In additional to Dynastian, in England his technique is special because English football barely has that, that's why most Spanish players can put so much on a table when they move to England. In Spain, they get used to that day in day out, and it's easier for them to deal with. If you watch RM, you will see Ronaldo does it sometimes but the defenders can stop him easily, so he now chooses the more practical way to go through

1:27 OUCH!! thats gotta hurt for the Arsenal player. @Dyna @tuan , I have to say that the defenders in Spain are stronger and better than in England. Nowadays we see great defenders turn into sh-it , just take a look at Ferdinand and Terry , now these days these guys are so terrible. I would rather have Mateo Musacchio from Villarreal and Alberto Botia from Elche then Ferdinand and Terry xD

^Terry, terrible? That sentence was enough to prove to me you don't even bother to watch the EPL. If you're going to insult a league, at least do so after watching it instead of spewing crap from your mouth.

This is similar to neymar. In Brazil neymar could pull off so many flicks and tricks but in Spain it rarely happens

to do tricks you need space. the only one who could pull tricks in every league was R9 O' Fenomeno.

@Iraqi

Have to disagree with you greatly there. There are some fantastic defenders in La Liga, but since La Liga is limited to mainly Spanish defenders, the EPL has a considerably better amount and quality of defenders (they import defenders from just about every European nation). I'd take Terry and Ferdinand right now any day over Botia and Musacchio.

@Iraqi

Yeah, I realized. I kept this page on my computer on about 3 hours ago, and I came back to reply, but when I refreshed the page, 2 of your comments were removed (I think you threw in a video in one of them too).

For the admin who removed them, could I kindly inquire why they were removed? Feel free to remove this comment, and post on my wall. I'm just curious why it was removed, because I didn't really see anything offensive said by @Iraqi_Madridista.

^He basically kept bashing Chelsea by calling us Chelski repeatedly, brought up PSG, and Terry's alleged racism, which has nothing to do with this thread.

@Iraqi You insulted Vendetta in your comment and insulting members is not tolerated here. If you want to talk about any club, use their correct name. Trolling is not tolerated here either. You don't like the rules, simply don't comment.

@Ven, @Alex

I see. Thanks for clearing it up for me. I was just concerned that he was being treated unfairly.

@Alex , Insulted members? OMG... Vendetta was actually the one who begon and after that i gave him a couple of facts WHY Terry was a ''terrible defender''. These things have nothing to do with insults or anything and it was towards nobody. Alex before you remove one of my comments could you please tell me why, because i want to feel free here in this site like everyone here in FootyRoom. Because atm i feel like someone who is keeping an eye on me. Thank You.

I would rather watch one more game from him playing like that with United than the rest of his career with Madrid..
He was just a joy to watch playing, Im not saying he doesn't play nice football at Madrid but he used to have a much more attractive playing style back then... We dont have that anymore in the EPL

@Dynastian: Him being treated unfairly? Hah! It's pretty well known for the FR members who've been here for a while now that he's the largest troll this forum has ever seen. He's been banned 2-3 times already, permanently each time but he keeps coming back like herpes. Look up cr7skillz and Iraqi_Maestro. They're both Iraqi_Madridsta's banned accounts.

@Ven , Excuse me? Why are you insulting me with the word ''herpes''. The other accounts were the old ones from 2 years ago when i was abit immature , but every human learns and grows thats why i learned to respect everyone. You should do the same thing Vendetta ;)

@Ven

Well, he's been pretty honest in the past few weeks, so why keep removing his comments? I don't think bringing up PSG or talking about Terry's racism is anything deserving to be removed. Both are a part of football history. And calling Chelsea "Chelski" is hardly an insult when we see "Penaldo" plenty of times, but no one removes it. See what I mean? Mods are rather biased when removing comments.

I remember one member repeatedly called Spurs "5purs", but no one ever removed his comments. His thread just got banned after it went overboard. So what's wrong with "Chelski"?

@Dynastian: If that's how you see it then fine, but trust me when I tell you that Iraqi_Madridsta is not your honest and common forum member. I'm telling the truth when I say he's the biggest troll this forum has seen (the biggest in the comment section would of course be manutdchamp). I feel the same way about some other posts deserving to be removed but that was then and this is now. We can't excuse this troll's comments just because of some horrible comments from other members before him.

Well, when Ronaldo was facing Italian or Spanish clubs , he was still putting on a show . So , I don't see the argument about limited space as good one . I think he changed his style to fit to team Mourinho set up to help bring the best out of him and every other player . Main reason he competes in the same league against Messi for the best player of the year , and practical standard style is much safer to go past defenders and score more goals . This guy is a winger and he scores 40+ goals every season ever since he came to Madrid .

@tuanis +1 It was a real joy to watch him . Now he is more like a "robot" . Last time I saw something similar to United days was when he played against Galatasaray and Sweden .
