To sum it all up he has basically shut down all the stories about him being sacked and being replaced by Mourinho. Sadly, he doesn't really sound scared about how his team his doing and has also asked for an apology from the media for making up stories about him. All in all, he is trying to cool the storm by acting calm which is the right thing to do at the moment as they have a game in a couple days to focus on.

Storming out of a press conference is not acting calm, its his sheer arrogance and stupidity. And he said he's worried. From what I've read, he has 2 games to prove him self. Else, Jose will come in. Personally, I think we should stick with LVG.

Get Jose, some new blood to the club

I'd agree with the two game deadline. He ended the press conference by saying he "hopes" he will see us in the New Year. That's pretty telling.

To be sincere, its hard to say whether he's angry, worried or just doesn't care, I know he's not terrible at speaking english but it still pretty hard to make out his mood with the way he's talking and the word. Then again, in my point of view, his future will surely be determined by his next results and by the board, so how he feel and what he think doesn't really matter at the end of the day...

@Embot7 +1 That is why I said he is acting calm because as you said "its hard to say whether he's angry, worried or just doesn't care" I thought he was trying to be calm and cool the storm the media had started.

@SunFlah Like you said, the next couple games against Stoke and Chelsea will decide his future. Sadly, it will be hard for him to save himself as it will be up to the players to get a result on the pitch and unfortunately this might turn out to be like the Chelsea situation where players turn against their own manager to get him sacked. I personally don't think this will happen as we don't have bastards on our team like Costa and Fabregas (sorry about my language and if i offended any Chelsea fans) who would do such a thing because since our squad is so young and has a lot of new players I don't think anyone would want to be an *ss-hole and reck their reputation. In general I just hope for the best for our club and like my profile picture says I will stand by LVG forever as I think he is our best option at the moment. Cheers.

Unfortunately for LVG he has no other option but to wait , most likely he will be sacked of course but however its Christmas maybe Ed Woodward wants him to have a happy Christmas and then on 1st of January 2016 he will be sacked. Also there are rumours that Man U are fighting for Pep Guardiola so that he does not join City.

My dad says the one manager he can't stand is mourinho. He'll change man u style to more defensive and the players like to attack more.

I've been staying silent on this matter for quite a while, but my patience has run its course. WTF guys, really? You want MOURINHO to manage our club?? If anything, he'll temporarily deliver good results, because a quick change is always good, but seriously, I don't think he will provide any solutions to our problems. What we need is a period of trials and errors, which will guarantee long term positive results, and LVG is doing what I expect him to do - giving youths a chance to play first team football.

So, in a way, he is delivering the results, from a certain point of view, and yes I do agree with you all that it hurts watching my team playing absolute shit football week in/week out. A part of me wants LVG sacked because of it, but I still wonder what will happen if he stays and gets the ball rolling again.

It wasn't long ago when United were playing some pretty lethal football last season, and I personally think Luke Shaw's presense on the field was absolutely crucial to LVG's plan for this season. But can we please just give him the chance to fix his problem? I want to judge him at the end as well, rather than now, because there's still a chance for him to do a U-turn for the club, plus if we sack him and hire Mourinho, that itself is money down the drain

If Pep Guardiola is smart, he would wait until LVG's time is over. I believe his ideals and principles of managing a club completely aligns with United's, and so he would be a perfect candidate for the United job, not Mourinho.

@Heisinburg This guy is actually on spot. Pep is going to City though from what I read despite I know most are bollocks

Instead of hating the manager why don't you ManU fans hate the board? You don't get a manager to manage your team without knowing what you get especially when he is around for more than 10 years in the world of football. I remember the 4-2 everyone was praising him and when things go hard for him you shout another managers name and want him out? Let him finish his contract and job that is rebuilding a team for the next manager and then judge him. I dont think he ever said we will be champions this year or bla bla :P. Although the boring football without goals is getting on anyones nerves it is very good to show faith in your players and managers as fan.

I know I'm in the minority here, but I don't want him fired. I just want him to loosen up.

Media is shameless ! They are twisting stories and forcing honest hard working manager to loose his job . No one works harder to make other managers to loose their job than media . I hope one day we will have something to combat it and journalist who lie will be loosing their jobs .

Also very unfair treatment of Van Gaal . As if United has a great squad to play beautiful football week and week out . Look at the players at his disposal and seriously analyze his season . He made basically "amateur " squad to professional level ( sort of in that sense based on the performance of those players in past years ) . United failed to get out of the league is also fault of the players who completely underestimated their opponents . So I would not put entire blame on Van Gaal .

Van Gal is laying foundation for United . Lets be honest Sir Alex Ferguson is one of the greatest managers of all time but he left VERY CRappy team !! Team that he could manage but not others like Moyes . Moyes fcked it up even more and Van Gaal is trying to rebuild it .
Frankly , he plays a lot of young guys ... is not what United philosophy was about to develop from academy ? I also can't understand the claim about United always playing beautiful football . May I ask when did you started watching United ? Because it was not always pretty and a lot of times it was ugly football and at times very boring football .

I thought his reaction to these shameless rumors and speculations was right . Journalists are asking very provocative and disrespectful questions so they can later write some big headline and twist his words . I say Let the man finish his job and retire in peace !

I'm not against that lvg gets sacked, I just can't see Mourinho in United... If he really becomes the next coach, I don't know whats gonna be the reaction of the players and the fans. Guardiola would have been better IMO
