Hi guys, it's been a while. I'm probably the most inconsistent user when it comes to these things.

How much do you guys think Cristiano Ronaldo is worth? 5 time Ballon d'Or winner, arguably the best goal scorer in footballing history. Master of skills, tricks and the beautiful game.

However, some are now arguing that Ronaldos form is slowly but surely declining. Many people are beginning for prefer Bale over Ronaldo and some have lost interest in CR7 completely, raising this question: How much is he worth?

The football market has been ridiculously inflated but Ronaldo isn't getting any younger.

Just so you guys know, when I say how much is he worth I don't necessarily mean how much would he sell for because any Chinese team these days would easily spend £200 million or more on Ronaldo

If you take also marketing material, fans attraction into account which you should. Then he is above 70M at this very moment

I think about 40-49 million Pounds is good for him.

First of all, the sheer marketing benefits of having CR7 on your team is ridiculous. Any team would benefit financially in that regard.

On a football side, he's obviously not going to get any better from now on, but if you put him on a good team (Juventus, Bayern, etc.), then he can score 30 goals for another couple seasons. Past that, he'll still probably be able to thump in some 20 goals for another couple seasons. All in all, you'll get the ultimate poacher who can probably bang in another 100 goals over the course of 4-5 seasons, so he'd be a valuable addition. Moreover, his years of experience and leadership mentality would be priceless to a young dressing room.

You'd essentially be getting a "been there, done that" player who's literally accomplished everything in his career minus a World Cup trophy. He could act as a mentor for the players who are currently in the squad. I suppose he knows a thing or two about goal-scoring and championship mentality after banging in some 584 goals and winning 21 trophies. :P

Personally, I wouldn't pay more than 50M for him. You aren't going to get more than 3 great years out him imo, and that doesn't make him that valuable in terms of transfer fee. Plus the fact that you can't really sell him on, so you're getting nothing back.

I put 60 mil right now due to his age.

After today's game, I feel good putting him at 100M. XD But really, there is no price for such great finishing. :D

When you think about the fact that James Rodriguez got to Real Madrid for more than 60 mil £ and Real Madrid got the money back in a matter of weeks just by the sales of his shirt, I think it's not realistic to put the price of Cristiano Ronaldo lower than that.

@Golazo I guess its his age the problem, but to be fair, I would pay way more for Ronaldo than for James, even if the secondly named is much younger. :P

Clubs receive a minimal fraction of jersey sales. It's a myth that clubs are able to "make back a transfer fee in a matter of weeks". I watched a study once, and I think I saw that United and Chelsea make about 10% of the profits from jersey sales... Madrid shouldn't be any different.

I saw they said that the shirt sales in a few days payed off around half of the money he was bought for, but there are also some links that indicate that the number of the shirt sold was inflated as a marketing stunt.

Also we are talking about a potential club from China, Tevez at the age of 32 signed for 70 mil pounds so...having that in mind...Cristiano would right now be a bigger price tag than that.

And now?

Real has already suffered in fans drop, empty seats etc... And Juve is having it. I would add 100m to the player value for any of those top class profiles.

I missed the mark by £30-40m and that was a year ago, didn't know I had the low-ball skills.

Here the situations is complex.

The value of players have many points. Like skill, marketing, career, fans, and others.

We are talking about Cristiano Ronaldo one of greatness players of all time for me, so 100 M in 33 years old make reasonable.

@EdgarEAM I agree! Even if it might be a bit cheap in today's market. For a 33 years old, it make sense.
