UEFA TOTY - 2015

Uefa just released the shortlist for the 2015's team of the year awards.

This year's edition lets you choose your formation to avoid players being chosen for positions they dont play in. So no excuses with that matter. Also there is a bunch of stats to look at for each player right when you are voting to do it with a little bit of criteria.

You can compare your team at the end with famous ex footballers in the "compare" tab.

GOALKEEPERS
Joe Hart (Manchester City), Gianluigi Buffon (Juventus), Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munich), Denys Bokyo (Dnipro)

DEFENDERS
Dani Alves, Gerard Pique, Javier Mascherano (Barcelona), David Alaba, Jerome Boateng (Bayern Munich), David Luiz, Thiago Silva (PSG), Diego Godin (Atletico Madrid), Ricardo Rodriguez (Wolfsburg), Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid), Leonardo Bonucci, Giorgio Chiellini (Juventus).

MIDFIELDERS
Ivan Rakitic, Andres Iniesta (Barcelona), Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City), Eden Hazard (Chelsea), James Rodriguez (Real Madrid), Yevhen Konoplyanka, Grzegorz Krychowiak (Sevilla), Hakan Calhanoglu (Bayer Leverkusen), Arturo Vidal (Bayern Munich), Paul Pogba and Claudio Marchisio (Juventus), Marco Verratti (PSG).

FORWARDS
Neymar, Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi (Barcelona), Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale (Real Madrid), Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Muller (Bayern Munich), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (PSG), Sergio Aguero (Manchester City), Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid), Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal), Alvaro Morata (Juventus).

It is really a hard choice. Considering it is an award for the calendar year and not this season only.
Is it supposed to be considered based on CL and EL competitions? If not then I see a bunch of player who are missing from this list.

My Team:

  • *Had to take out Ricardo Rodriguez to be able to include Muller but would choose any of both.
  • ** Didn't vote for either Messi or Ronaldo because reasons...

Hard to not including Muller, but Sanchez has a lesser team IMO :(

I know it is mostly Barcelona but they are won almost everything besides 1 cup that got lifted by Bilbao.
Bit biased on Eden Hazard but I don't really care.

Link Fixed.

Also, I didn't include Messi or Ronaldo cus' everyone already knows they are going to get chosen. Messi obviously deserves to be in the team so I just wanted to vote for those who had lesser chance. I like my team like that, it looks more original and balanced.

Just wondering, how is Pique making it into so many people's team? I don't think he's been all that good over the last twelve months, I was surprised when he was nominated in the first place.

@SunFlash

Pique has improved considerably last season. He was absolute trash from 2011-14, but has picked up his act last season. I don't know how well he's faring this season, though, since I don't watch too many Barca matches anymore. Perhaps a Barcelona fan can enlighten you on that.
