Marouane Fellaini
I thought Fellaini was outstanding when he came onto the
pitch. With him on the field, Carrick had more freedom to go forward and create
chances higher up . Fellaini plays like a magnet during set pieces and when he
gets forward. He attracts the opposition very well. This opens up play for the
wingers and the main striker up front. His hold-up play is excellent and he
provides a decent defensive cover in front of the back four. His game is much
more than simply a one-dimensional defensive midfielder. This signing was a
must for United, and I am glad it got through.
Adnan Januzaj
When I first saw Ashley Young leaving the pitch I thought
surely it would be Zaha who would replace him seeing as how he would have been
playing against his former club and it would be more of a like-for-like
replacement. But I was wrong. 18-year old Adnan Januzaj played his first
Premier League game for United and I must say I was impressed. His first touch
was absolutely brilliant and the way he glided past defenders with ease and
opened up space for himself speaks volumes of his potential. His maturity was
also on display in the way he was able to cleverly draw fouls. His contract
runs out by the end of the season and hopefully he can re-sign for United.
What do you guys think?
I think that Adnan is a marvelous player. He impressed me a ton during pre-season. I didn't catch his performance today but I don't doubt anything you've said about it. If Moyes has a brain in his head he'll keep this youngster handy. Very bright future for this kid, me thinks.
Maybe Moyes will have the last laugh, at all those who said he needed to do more transfer business?
@ikoiko, I agree. He still has several areas of his game in which he can improve though: finishing, body balance/strength, etc. He can achieve those things at United for sure.
@Lodats, I agree mate. I believed though all along that the only thing we really needed to strengthen was the central midfield position, and Moyes did well to address that (despite the embarrassment and the shambles of the transfer deadline day). People forget that Moyes has inherited a team that won the title by 11 points (could have been more had it not been for United's complacency in the last few matches), so any major transfers were going to have to be done by our rivals.

Lol i remember when i used to go school there was a boy who looked just like Januzaj .
@ArsenalGunners:
Put Adnan on the left wing, alongside Zaha on the right - our future wings are decided thanks to our ingenious youth system and Fergie's eye of talent.
During the game, Fellaini's presence brought great stability and strength in our midfield, and he looks great in a Unied shirt too! With a great bonus of being a regular international as well, I think he will definitely be an asset to us in the coming weeks.
^^ He still needs a haircut, though.. :D
so when is buttner gonna play on a regular basis?
Yeah what happened to Buttner? Wasn't he touted to be Evra's successor?
@V, not since Moyes replaced SAF. From the looks of it the reason why he is still at United and not Besiktas is because Moyes couldn't land Baines or Coentrao. Fabio looked good today though. Whoscored.com (I trust them a lot and encourage you all to visit for tremendously telling statistics) rated him at 7.1 performance-wise in the Crystal Palace game, which was better than Evra. He can play both on the left and the right.
Fellaini is proven, world class player. He will improve us a lot in defense, attack, strenght, jump! Januzaj is unbelievable talent, when you watch him he looks thin, weak, but when he go to attack opponent, they just can't stop him without foul! Amazing left foot, vision, skills ... He will be our main left wing-play maker (like Giggs). We had n' t any good player there since Giggs was on top form 10 years ago . We r much stronger than last year cos both of them and fit Vidić!
@TheGame: I see. Well thanks for the info.
