OSCAR - Age: 20 (Midfielder) [CHELSEA/BRAZIL]
The emergence of Oscar has done wonders for the quest of coach Mano Menezes to wean Brazil off an excessive dependence on the counter-attack. The attacking midfielder is a playmaker in the true sense of the term: mobile, always available to receive the ball, constantly generating ideas and able to dictate the rhythm of the game.

BETINHO - Age: 18 (Forward) [SPORTING LISBON/PORTUGAL]

Wonderful penalty-area predator who in just four seasons has racked up 125 goals for various Sporting age-group sides. Currently a Portugal U-19 international, he was in fine form during the 2012 NextGen Series, scoring six times.

AHMED MUSA - Age: 19 (Forward) [CSKA MOSCOW/NIGERIA]
Equally at home as a second striker or a winger, he was signed from Dutch outfit VVV Venlo earlier this year. Earned his move to Europe after topping the Nigerian scoring charts in 2009-10 with 18 goals for Kano Pillars.

ADEMILSON - Age: 18 (Forward) [SAO PAULO/BRAZIL]
Made his name by scoring five times for Brazil at the 2011 Under-17 World Championship. Broke into the Sao Paulo first team this year and has continued to find the back of the net with impressive regularity.

NICK POWELL - Age: 18 (Midfielder) [MANCHESTER UNITED/ENGLAND] 
Lower-league English club Crewe Alexandra have an exceptional record of producing cultured young players and the latest graduate now gets the chance to showcase his skill, flair and audacity at Old Trafford following a  ₤3million move this summer.

OLIVER TORRES - Age: 17 (Midfielder) [ATLETICO MADRID/SPAIN]
Awarded a contract until 2017 in an attempt to put off Premier League predators. Despite being one of the youngest players in the squad, he was a key member of the Spain team that triumphed at the European Under-19 championship this summer.

JEAN MARIE DONGOU - Age: 17 (Forward) [BARCELONA/CAMEROON]
Brought to Barca at the age of 13 after impressing in a seven-a-side tournament in Spain, the Douala-born youngster has not put a foot wrong since, piling up the goals for various junior teams, despite often playing with and against boys two or three years his senior. He made his debut for Barcelona's B team at the turn of this year and ended the 2012 NextGen Series as the competition's top scorer with seven goals.

RAHEEM STERLING - Age: 17 (Winger) [LIVERPOOL/ENGLAND] 
He began his youth career at Queens Park Rangers before signing for Liverpool in 2010. Sterling made his Premier League debut in the 2011–12 season. He has represented England at under-16, under-17 and under-19 levels. Sterling joined the academy at Queens Park Rangers at the age of 10. At the age of 14, he was featured on the front cover of Jamaica's national newspaper The Gleaner who hailed his progress and reported that he had "dazzled the English football world with his prodigious talent".

JESE - Age: 19 (Forward) [REAL MADRID/SPAIN]
The jewel in the Spanish crown at this summer's European Under-19 championship, where he was top scorer and the tournament's Most Valuable Player. Gifted and incisive, he loves to try his luck from distance. Made his La Liga debut against Real Sociedad in March.

DENNIS PRAET - Age: 18 (Midfielder) [ANDERLECHT/BELGIUM] 
A regular for Belgium at every level from under-16 to under-19, Praet's main assets are his vision, accuracy of pass over long distances, excellent ball control and that rare ability to never appeared hurried. Dictating the rhythm of a game is second nature to him and, while his left foot and finishing both require a degree of improvement, he looks set to become a pivotal figure for both club and country.

VIKTOR FISCHER - Age: 18 (Forward) [AJAX/DENMARK]
Signed from Midtjylland in 2011, the prolific striker looks about to explode to the Eredivise scene after a successful season in the Ajax youth side. Has proved to be something of a goal machine for Denmark's under-19s team.

MOHAMED YATTARA - Age: 19 (Forward) [LYON/FRANCE]
Powerful and a real handful in the air, the front runner from Guinea is the latest jewel to emerge from the highly productive Lyon academy. Had a successful spell at second-tier side Aries last term and will spend this season in the top flight with Tryoes.

DANIEL BESSA - Age: 19 (Midfielder) [INTER MILAN/BRAZIL]
Brazil-born with an Italian passport, this stylish playmaker was one of the stars of Internazionale's triumph in the 2012 NextGen Series. Great in tight spots and a wonderful passer of the ball, he is a successful product of the Brazilian futsal system.

SAMED YESIL - Age: 18 (Forward) [BAYER LEVERKUSEN/GERMANY]
Natural goalscorer with an impressive marksmanship record for the Leverkusen youth team. The Dusseldorf-born youngster hit six goals in seven matches for Germany at the 20011 Under-17 World Championship.

LUCAS PIAZON - Age: 18 (Forward) [CHELSEA/BRAZIL]
Sao Paulo-born winger or second striker who combines firepower and free-kick prowess with a rather un-Brazilian capacity for simplicity and effectiveness. He joined Chelsea from Sao paulo in an 8million deal during the 2011 close season.

MARQUINHOS - Age: 18 (Defender) [CORINTHIANS/BRAZIL]
Powerful center-half who is also comfortable on the ball. The former captain of Brazil's under-17 side, he has already been with Corinthians for a decade, although he has been strongly linked with a move to Europe this season.

CIRO IMMOBILE - Age: 20 (Forward) [GENOA/ITALY]
Had a terrific season last year at Pescara, ending up as leading Serie B scorer on 28 goals. At 6ft 1in, he uses his physical presence to the full and puts himself about.

STEFANO MAGNASCO - Age: 19 (Defender) [GRONINGEN/CHILE]
Classy right-back who left Universidad Catolica this summer, joining Dutch club with a good record of grooming South American talent.

SUSO - Age: 18 (Midfielder) [LIVERPOOL/SPAIN]
Provided he is utilised in his best position - as a central attacking midfielder and not wide out on the right - he could well be in the plans of new Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers. Full of ingenuity and subtlety, he arrived at Anfield two years ago from Cadiz.

NEYMAR - Age: 20 (Forward) [SANTOS/BRAZIL]
Only 20 years young and already considered to be one of the most skilful and talented football players on Earth, Neymar is a target for most of the big clubs in Europe like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Manchester City and European champions Chelsea. At the age of 19, Neymar won the 2011 South American Footballer of the Year award, by a record margin, after coming third in 2010.

@man utd, I agree about Iker Muniaín! I believe if stays in Athletic Bilbao, he won't reach his fullest potential. It would be sad to watch him leave the club he has played for  his whole life, but it would be a smart decision I think. I don't like the direction the club is going, with Fernando Llorente not seeing eye to eye with Bielsa, and the club isn't performing well this season at all. It's a shame because this club holds principles that aren't too common in football today.

David Alaba - Age 20 (Midfielder) [Bayern Munich/Austria]

Of all the great youth academies in Europe, Bayern Munich's may be the most underrated.

They continue to produce top players so much that even their rivals are enjoying the fruits of their labor.

David Alaba is just another of Bayern's youth players that is now excelling in Europe.

At
17, he was the youngest footballer to ever play a competitive match for
Bayern Munich and was voted Austria's Footballer of the Year at just
19.

Alaba continues to surprise fans with his versatility and looks to become a star at Germany's most decorated club.

Stephan El Shaarawy - Age 19 (Forward) [AC Milan/Italy]

While many neutral fans continue to question El Shaarawy, Milan seems to have no trouble trusting the youngster on the pitch.

And
for good reason. The young Italian has yet to break out as an elite
player, but his poise and ability to step up in big games warrant his
reputation as one of Serie A's brightest young prospects.

El Shaarawy is not a fantastic finisher, but his passing and holdup play could see him develop into a great second striker.

 Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain - Age 19 (Winger) [Arsenal/England]

Arsenal is renowned for being one of the best clubs in Europe at scouting young prospects.

It was Cesc Fabregas or Gael Clichy that gave Arsenal the reputation as a club with a great eye for talent.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain continues to prove that trend as truth.

The
Ox had quite the start to his Arsenal career by scoring two goals in
his first three matches and becoming the youngest English player to
score in the Champions League.

He is a fantastic dribbler, is never afraid to try that long pass and can play almost anywhere on.

Erik Lamela - Age 20 (Midfielder) [AS Roma/Argentina]

Lamela is just one of many players in Italy doing his best to fight
the out-dated stigma that Serie A is a place for older stars to move.

The Argentinian has already been capped by the senior squad and will be one of Roma's key players next season.

Lamela
has incredible touch and glides effortlessly with the ball at his feet.
He is notorious for leaving defenders cross-footed or on the ground
with his dribbling ability and is always exciting to watch.

He can
be a bit petulant at times, but his boldness and exciting play make
overlooking his temporary character concerns worth it.

Isco - Age 20 (Midfielder) [Malaga/Spain]

Isco is one of the biggest and brightest youngster in La Liga.

After leaving Valencia and moving closer to his family, Isco became one of the league's top midfielders last season.

The Spaniard completed 86.6 percent of his passes last season and averaged 1.3 key passes per game.

He was one of the biggest reasons Malaga were able to earn a fourth-place finish and a chance to play in the Champions League.

Now
that Malaga's financial issues have forced Santi Cazorla out, Isco will
be needed to step up at a very young age and fill a huge hole in
midfield.

 Marc-Andre Ter Stegen - Age 20 (Goalkeeper) [Borussia Monchengladbach/Germany]

Last season, Marc-André ter Stegen was not only one of the best keepers in Germany, he was one of the best keepers in Europe.

His
78 percent save success rate was the best in Germany. In that category,
the German outplayed Manuel Neuer, Iker Casillas, Joe Hart, David de
Gea and Hugo Lloris.

In fact, he was better than any keeper in Europe besides Gigi Buffon. Oh and he did this all as a teenager.

His outstanding reflexes and shot-stopping ability already put him in the top tier of keepers in Europe.

Thorgan Hazard - Age 19 (Winger) [Zulte Waregem/Belgium]

Thorgan Hazard is a Belgian football player who currently plays for Belgian club Zulte Waregem on loan from English club Chelsea. He is the younger brother of Eden Hazard and, like his brother, can play as an attacking midfielder and a winger. Hazard is a Belgian youth international and has represented his nation at under-16, under-17, under-18, under-19 and under-21 level. The younger Hazard has been described by Lens youth coach Eric Assadourian
as a "technically gifted player who can settle a match by himself with
ease" and his older brother has stated that he believes Thorgan is the
better player of the two.

Angelo Henriquez - Age 18 (Forward) [Man Utd/Chile]
