Truth about Thiago to United

Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara insists he was never approached by Manchester United about a move to Old Trafford.
The 23-year-old Spaniard joined Bayern from Barcelona earlier this month, ending speculation about a possible summer switch to United.Thiago's father and agent, Mazinho, suggested his son had been "very close" to joining the Premier League champions, but the Spain Under-21 international appeared to contradict this claim.
"The truth is that in no moment did United come to us and talk to us. It came from the press, it was always a lie," he said.
He was able to leave Barcelona for a reduced price after a lack of first-team appearances activated a clause in his contract and Alcantara felt his former club did not make enough effort to keep him.
He said: "It's unfair to say I wasn't patient. The club knew my situation. I waited for them, especially before the European Championship, but they never contacted me. I didn't feel valued."I wanted to compete.
The club knew that I wanted to leave and they didn't do much to change that."Everyone looks out for their interests, I wanted to feel valued and I wanted to compete so I decided to leave the club and join Bayern.
"I was waiting and waiting all summer, there was a point when I had to decide."All a footballer wants is to play football and I wanted to play, they [Barcelona] didn't do much for me to stay, so here I am."

Why should we cry, the midlefield is not our problem at all, and 25M is a fair price.

Let me get this straight Mladen, Manchester United, a team renown for aproaching and convincing world class players to joing them didn't even attempt to sign Thiago for 25M (honestly thats a bargain for his current ability and potential to develope) and Barca should cry? They have Iniesta, Fabregas, Xavi, Rafinah (claims are he is the more skillful brother), Sergi Roberto, Tello, Cuenca, Neymar, and Deulufeu. I see they are just fine without Thiago. On the other hand, ManU is really struggling to sign top class talent to bolster the midfield. Sorry but with Moyes expect a third place finish if you are lucky.

@raimondo90, don't be so quick to judge a team before the season has even begun. We might not have much class in the midfield, but we have depth and Fletcher is expected to come back and there is still over a month to go in the transfer window.

Man utd I'm not trying to attack ManU. I just think given the current situation Mou's Chelsea seems the strongest to finish first while second place is gonna be a tough fight between Arsenal United and City. Moyes seems like a great coach but great for a team with expectation of finishing 5-7. He could prove me wrong, but we will see.
