Transfers EPL vs La Liga so far

Most people already know that the revenue is much higher in the EPL, than in La Liga. I thought it would be interesting to compare transfers sums between the 2 major leagues so far. EPL came up with a staggering number of having Net-spent 436.2m€ so far in comparison to La Ligas Net-spent of 108.95m€. And I believe this years transfer saga is far from done. I'm convinced Chelsea will make another major signing and that Soutahmpton will turn there netspent to a negative. So what are your thoughts around this? Will La Liga catch up? Are the EPL teams making big signings way earlier in the transfer window than usual? Can La Liga compete with EPL in terms of money? As you can see the middle and lower teams in La Liga have so far not spent much as usual, while they have received tons of free transfers. Good or bad?

Two of the three La Liga teams with the most money spend, Real Madrid and Valencia, have a combined 37m spent so far. I would be shocked if it stayed that way, so this will probably even out a little bit, but I don't see how La Liga is supposed to compare when newly promoted sides in the BPL are making it rain.

Of course, like I pointed out in the thread I made about this, BPL teams have to pay more for a player that a La Liga team could have gotten for far less. In this case money=quality can be a flawed equation.

I don't know what are your sources but City spend 190M & United 157..

Just took the info from from http://footyroom.com/transfer-center but you're right, should have taken it from transfermarkt instead. I see that Footyroom didn't include Nolito and Moreno as transfers for City which naturally adds up to more.. Guess the net spent should be around a 100m€ more to EPL then..

I think this is great idea, but would be better to discuss once the transfer window is done and we got all the prices included. But so far I guess we expected big signings since arrival of new managers. Only thing I'm surprised so far is Real Madrid and how quiet they are.

Sure, maybe it would of. But will be interesting for sure to see how it develops. And was definitively expecting big name transfers with the managers that are currently residing in the EPL.. Yep, they surely got beaten for Pogba at least..
