I read an article, and this is what it showed. Counting only EPL goals.

  1. Peter Crouch, Stoke City - 10 M pounds, 17 goals
    588,000 pounds per goal
  2. Cameron Jerome, Stoke City - 4 M pounds, 7 goals
    571,000 pounds per goal
  3. Papiss Cisse, Newcastle - 10.6 M pounds, 21 goals
    505,000 pounds per goal
  4. Christian Benteke, Villa - 7.7 M pounds, 19 goals
    405,000 pounds per goal
  5. Nikica Jelavic, Everton - 5.6 M pounds, 16 goals
    363,000 pounds per goal
  6. Jermaine Defoe, Spurs - 14.4 M pounds, 47 goals
    306,000 pounds per goal
  7. Dimitar Berbatov, Fulham - 4.4 M pounds, 15 goals
    293,000 pounds per goal
  8. Shane Long, West Brom - 4.5 M, 16 goals
    281,000 pounds per goal
  9. Javier Hernandez, United - 6.6 M, 33 goals
    200,000 pounds per goal
  10. Wayne Rooney, United - 25.6 M, 141 goals
    181,560 pounds per goal
  11. Luke Moore, Swans - 900,000 pounds, 5 goals
    180,000 pounds per goal
  12. Jon Walters, Stoke - 2.9 M, 21 goals
    138,000 pounds per goal
  13. Michu, Swans - 2.3 M, 18 goals
    128,000 pounds per goal
  14. Peter Odemwingie, West Brom - 2.6 M, 30 goals
    87,000 pounds per goal
  15. Rickie Lambert, Southampton - 1 M, 15 goals
    67,000 pounds per goal

There are some flaws with this evaluation. One is that players wages aren't taken into account. Wayne Rooney demands much higher wages than Rickie Lambert. Another is that this article should've taken into consideration goals in ALL competitions, as Rickie Lambert has been with Southampton for 4 years, but Southampton has only been promoted last term, so 15 goals is all he had to show in this article. But otherwise, an interesting read. If you guys want, I can do something similar myself with all competitions?

@WhatTheHell

They didn't forget. Torres and Carroll just have terrible ratios.

Or is that sarcasm I detect? ;)

I wonder how far Lukaku would be in this list if his loan to West Brom counted.
