Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has managed to help young fan Ronald Gjorka escape deportation from the US.

Gjorka was facing jail and deportation to Albania after he was arrested for invading the pitch during the preseason game between Real andChelsea.

The fan, who hugged Ronaldo while on the ground, was charged with intruding on private property (trespassing) and public disorder.

Ronaldo wrote to the Florida prosecuting attorney asking for leniency and the charges have since been dropped.

Gjorka's attorney told ABC: "We are happy to announce the prosecutor today dropped the charges against our client in open court.

"In particular, we thank Cristiano Ronaldo for all his assistance and consideration in this important matter involving a young college student with an extremely bright future."

Gjorka smiled: "My dream now is just to see him again to say thanks."

I hatefake ronaldo normally but must praise him for helping the poor guy. Good work penaldo!

I find it entertaining that you praise and insult Ronaldo with the same breath. It's really one or the other, mate. But even so, hate him or love him, he does do a lot of great things on, and off, of a football pitch.

What a dumb ass thing to do from that fan...why the fuck risk getting deported back to Albania for such a dumb thing? However it was very nice from Ronaldo to help him. I don't think many players would have gave a fuck about him.

There is no shame to respect Ronaldo as a great player, even for a die hard Barça fan...

its just a publicity stunt. i bet it was penaldo's agents idea to help and it wasn't even penaldo's words he just signed the bloody thing. no credit for that just as there is no crdit for penalties.

@man_utd, don't think that's the actual letter. I find it hard to believe that signature is actually a signature...

Well. It's the content of the letter nonetheless, whether its actually written by him or not.
