A hundred clean sheets only at the age of 22...
EDIT: Credit to Atletico Madrid for their fantastic defense as well. They definitely were one of the main reasons he got so many cleansheets and broke so many records.

Lol i thought it was his new number at Chelsea :) lol.
Yes, its impressive !
Chelsea will be mad not to make him nr.1 next season.
It is not an easy decision to make . Peter Cech is still one of the best shot stoppers in the world . He has done so much for Chelsea and loves Chelsea . I don't think it is easy for Mourinho , Chelsea board and fans to say good bye to Peter . We do not want to loose Courtois because he is certainly our future goalkeeper , but I feel like they should play one season sharing matches . There are plenty to share .
Everyone remembers Van Der Sar who was beast all the way till 41 years of age . Buffon also seemes like not slowing down and I feel like Cech is similar type of player who can go on for another 7 years at least in top form .
@Marcus
An interesting idea would be to play Courtois during league matches, and Cech in all cup matches. Ancelotti tried it with Lopez and Casillas, and it kept both players happy.
Awesome shot stopper...curious as to how Athletico produced both him and DeGea one after the other...

Mourinho did the exact same thing with Cech and Cudicini, in 2005, and Tottenham did it with Lloris and Freidel, the last couple of seasons. I don't follow it too closely in other clubs, but it''s certainly a well-established method.
The only issue I can think of is that Cech might not be satisfied with it. It might be better to sell him on, if Courtois is going to take up the No. 1 jersey (which I agree he should, now).

@Dyn
If Courtois doesn't start every game, he will force a transfer out of the club. Its a easy decision in my opinion. Sell or bench Cech, play Courtois every game.
sell cech coz he's old now. get courtois back and give him no.1.
Agree with Lodatz , Cech would probably prefer rotation rather than playing only CL matches or Cup matches and Courtois would not settle for CL matches only . Cech wants to leave his footprint in EPL all time records ( for example he is 9 clean sheets away from leveling with David James ) .
@eden
You probably right . Courtois would like to start every game . This is tricky .
I noticed it is mostly non Chelsea fans who are suggesting Cech to leave. Some of you do not understand . Cech has been with us 10 years but it feels like 20 . And He has done so much . It is like if Paul Scholes was still in his prime and United bought someone who seems to be better .
We talk about loyalty of players , but where is our loyalty to a player who does not want to leave ? It is not easy to just to change our veteran like an old pair of gloves .
Also , Cech has not declined in his performances at all , so him being old is not an excuse to let him go .

^You make some great points that I can't really counter because they are 100% true, but screw the truth. I love Cech. I love the guy with all my heart. And I love how Drogba gets more credit for the CL 2012 when it was really Cech who saved our asses. But football is a constantly changing sport. It's time to bid goodbye to Cech.
they want petr cech to leave chelsea so that their club can buy cech and they have 1 of the best goalkeepers in the world.. thats very obvious :)
@ven
I think it is more of a equal contribution . Definitely our veteran players stand out of the rest . For me it was : Peter Cech , John Terry ( His performance against napoli was magnificent ) , Ashley Cole , Frank Lampard and Drogba .
However , Peter Cech and Drogba arguebly were most crucial .One saved our asses with impossible saves and other one scored when no one thought , we would score .

^I give a lot of credit to Drogba for scoring that late goal and the winning penalty but he also gave away a penalty in extra-time. If it wasn't for Cech we would have lost 2-1. Drogba also gave away a penalty vs Barca in the 2nd leg but Messi missed.
@iamRDM i dont want at fcb coz were getting ter stegen.
Yeah I can see what you mean . If I would rate them lower than Peter Cech would take number reason why we won CL. Shame he did not get Goalkeeper of the year award ... to keep one clean sheet against Barcelona who were still in prime and made so many saves . was already accomplishment worthy of that award .

This will probably come down to Mou talking to both player see what they need and want from the season and if they are willing to negotiate then all good. If not, Mou will have to decide who he wants to keep as number 1.
