Thiago Alacantra?

How about it, folks? A 18 million buyout clause by August 1st and he is considered the next Xavi and one of the brightest young talents in Europe. Rumors are saying he wants to leave and start instead of appear occasionally for a team. As a team that lacks a pivot player, this could be the deal of the season for us. Of course though, ManUtd and Arsenal fans could say the same about him.

Perhaps, but you have to think, will Chelsea play that way? Will they use a pivot player? Because that doesn't sound like Mourinho's style. And I doubt he'll buy a Guardiola-raised player anytime soon anyways.

United could use him perfectly, but they have Cleverley in a similar position. What they need now is a replacement for Carrick when he gets too old. I suggest Victor Wanyama.

Arsenal..... meh. I'm not even sure which direction the Gunners are headed at the moment, but I can imagine Thiago playing alongside Wilshere. Arteta IS approaching 30, but it all depends on whether Wenger splashes the cash or not.

Spot on about Chelsea now that I think about it, but remember that Mourinho isn't the one who buys/sells our players. It's not Roman either. It's our sporting director, Michael Emenalo. According to Goal, Zidane is going to have the same role as well. I guess we'll wait and see what happens to Alacantra.

I know.... it's so sad.... if he played more he would be without a doubt the best youth right now.

He'd be foolish to leave IMO. Massive mistake. He has to be slightly more patient. Xavi is not getting any younger and his brilliant light will begin to fade shortly. Moreover, there is huge questions surrounding the future of his only other rival (Cesc). If he waits one more season and for some MAD reason Barcelona don't want Fabs anymore I could see him taking Xavi's spot. The youth of today have no patience and "fools rush in" as they say.

Isn't Thiago's buyout clause around 90M?

@Raimondo: my understanding is it was something crazy like that, PROVIDED he played an x number of games. He hasn't and as such, his buy out clause remains the 18m Vendetta has referenced.
At least, this is my understanding of the situation.

Interesting... 18M for Thiago is a steal. But i can't see him leaving barca. He has his future there, in one more season he will be ready to be the starter or compete with Fabs for the role of Xavi.

you'd think so, but all the noises coming out in the press is that his relationship with the club is not good atm and his father is pushing for the move. We shall see.

The question would also be if his younger brother Rafinha would follow suit or stay.

He will stay in Barca for sure .

He will go to premier league no doubt about that. Barcelona is wasting his talent by benching him anf fabregas.

if i was him i would leave the club, the coach doesn't trust any young player and players feel that, the diference now is that the evolution of youth with tito is not as effective as with pep. when you buy Neymar, a young talent its a message for Tello, Deulofeu, thiago,Cuenca.... the best solution for those players is to go on loan or to fire tito and recruit an accomplished coach.
those players are not less talented than Busquets, pedro, pique and adriano at this age, the big diference is coaching.
