The Key to German success

Germany seemed the most complete team in world cup due to many reasons, lets start from the very start of this team.
We are in 98 where the Manschaft stars like Klinsmann or Mathaus was aging, they had troubles in transition but were smart enough to review their Football and form some youth who will shine in the future.
But to get in this result, of a complete team with individuals and collective awarness, this for me the points that made them be the favourites of this World cup.

  • Bayern Munchen success : Bayern becoming succesful gave German the extra confidence who make the difference between a good team and a great team. They seem very confident in their Football, never panic while conceding a goal, and when they score first the game seems almost over.

  • Many players from 1 team : And this is a big similarity with the Spanish, half of the team is from Bayern, they know each others very well and they are tactically confortable with each others...

  • Stability : Joachim Low trust despite not winning was a very good point, the fact he isnt stubborn made Germany try different styles of Football at different level before becoming the Germany we saw lately.

  • The X factor of 2014 : For me the X factor this year is Pep Guardiola. Some may not agree but German players changed their way of handling the game, they seem more confortable to keep possession and dictacte the tempo, something they lacked in previous World cups.

This additional knowledge of Football have influenced the Manschaft specially their midlefield, great point for Joachim low to use every single detail to make his squad progress...

Germany seems the most complete team in Europe ( Or the world ), they can play every styles from counter attacking to keeping the ball in key moments of the game, wich make them suffer less from opposition, this mix of styles in my opinion and this ability to adapt tactically to the rival and controll the tempo is Germany biggest strenght.

Despite having some flops in the attack, Gotze/Ozil ( My opinion ), they had a big margin comparing to others because no team in the world actually have all this qualities combined, and that is for me their Key of success.

Im curious to discuss with you specially for those who doesnt share my view, and i would ask the German fans or the whole Football fans if Pep training styles ( Tiki_taka training ) with the additional tactical awarness and tempo controll, in addition to the previous German qualities has made this team one of the most intelligent team in History.

Similarities with Spain 2010/2012 ?

Germany 2010 vs Germany 2014 : Confidence ? A little more posession knowledge, a little more tactical awarness provided by Pep. Joachim low progression as a coach, clearly...

Özil a flop? I guess you're just purely hating him for your personal reasons. He scored 1 and assisted 1 with creating 17 chances to his team while playing wide, when #10 role is much better position for him. Compared to James (11), Robben (17), Messi (23) and Kroos (14) who ppl consider the best players of the tournament. I also saw a new side of him with him defending A LOT more than in Arsenal last season.

"Özil a flop? I guess you're just purely hating him for your personal reasons"

  • And you're simply protecting him for personal reasons. If I was to be biased, I would say Schurrle was good by saying he scored 3 and assisted 1 with limited game time.

^ You decided to read first line, ha? Schürrle was REALLY good this world cup, I guess you didn't see a lot of Germany's games, if you think only biased person can say that he was great? I'm a FOOTBALL fan and this shit pisses me off that you think I'm biased if I say anything about Arsenal FC players.

And how can Özil and Götze be a flop when they just won the WORLD CUP along with all the other players? Football is teamgame, I guess you don't know that, eh.

Hey, I never said he was a flop. I thought he was great just like all the Germans. I just thought it was funny that you said it because you were an Arsenal fan. In my honest opinion, I thought Schurlle was a super sub and should definitely start for us next season.

@decentk, that was my opinion, i have in my memory Ozil of 2011/12 and he has no relationship with the actual Ozil..
The old one scored from freekicks and shooted regularly with confidence, the actual one seems very tired and not at ease in front of goal.

I didnt want to discuss only Ozil performence, and Gotze now has deleted all the decent games he did before the final, after France lost, i knzw inside of me that this team would lift the trophy for the reasons written above...

I dont think Ozil was a flop, he wasn't as good as we expected him to be, so was Gotze. But they did the job and had their sparking moment. Ozil looked tired at some games, but Low had faith in him, he gotta did what the coach asked him to fulfill and both proved they were right.

Yes, i had a good memory of the old Ozil so comparing to other players he was decent but he is far from his real/old form.

For me it is 8 years of having Joachim Low as the manager. They stuck with him even after the heartbreaks of Euro 2008, WC 2010 and Euro 2012. In the end we saw the cohesion of the German team and it ultimately payed off.

Ozil made great chances for his teammates with quick passes around the area. If like 2 more of those went in he'd have 3 assists and everybody would be praising him as the best number 10 in the world. imo, he did alright but wasn't the best. However, isn't that how Germany played? They had no real stand out player. They're a great team and that's how they won.
