@Dynastian98 ,

I agree that big clubs are impatient with their players just like they are with their managers . I think it is all down to how quick success is demanded from players that set high expectations from beginning . However, you can not tell us that our management was impatient with our players. We gave Torres 3 years and still waiting for his spark to comeback. If Mata had put his mind and worked hard to gain his place , he would have been the last one to get on transfer list . Although , I am sure Mata had a say in this transfer and Mourinho did not force him out just like we did not force KDB out . KDB did not train hard and did not take opportunities when it was given to him. He accidently said it in his interview when he mentioned about Mourinho's criticism on how he trains and then KDB said he started to train harder. Kind of sold himself out . Similar situation with Mata .

Managers change , styles change but top player should be able to quickly adapt . How many mangers Lampard has changed since he came to Chelsea ? Ever wondered ?

That match against Southampton was crucial for Mata, because Mourinho took him off at half time and proved his point by bringing in two Brazilians ( Oscar and Willian ) who made immediate impact . It felt like after that match Mata gave up hope and desire completely .

Example for top club player spirit is at Madrid . His name is Di Maria who still there and fights for his place . Even though there was open talk , so many times to sell him . He gets into team despite competing against most expensive player in the world . Talk about expectations and pressure huh .

Ozil was simply thrown out due to lack of goals and balance accounts after Bale's purchase . We gave Mata 4 months to adapt to new style and tactics and break his way in , but Madrid gave Ozil 2 weeks . See the difference.

And again I am sure this deal is to bring Rooney to Chelsea otherwise we would have sold him to PSG .But you never know

@Marcus

I agree, but players such as Lampard play in a position which does not generally change. Lampard is a CM, and CM's around the world all have similar box-to-box playing style which only slightly changes due to tactics. Attacking midfielders, wingers, and forwards are the ones most heavily affected by tactical tweaks.

Selling Ozil was not an intention of Ancelotti. From preseason, you could tell that Ancelotti's three midfielders were Ronaldo on the left, Ozil in the middle, and Isco on the right. That's what he wanted. When he heard that Bale was going to be coming, he was given a choice on keeping one or the other: Ozil or di Maria. He made the right choice. He figured di Maria would fight for his place more than Ozil would, and started playing Isco in AM. Bale was bought, Ozil was sold. You should hear Zinedine Zidane's narrative on how much of a panic he went into when he woke up in the morning and heard Ozil was going to be sold in a matter of hours. It was a political decision, but it may not be all so bad for us. Bale's been doing well, and Isco is fantastic. Same for you guys. Willian, Oscar, and Hazard make a great trio.

Mata may have been "given" 4 months, but it was clear from the beginning that Mourinho wasn't keen on keeping him. Mourinho wanted Oscar over Mata, but in general, Chelsea fans would be quite shocked if Juan was sold all of a sudden. So instead, Juan was given minutes here and there to "prove himself", which he naturally was unable to do due to lack of proper playing time and a change in style. So he's now being shipped out. And yes, I agree that Mata probably wanted to leave as well. I would too, if Mourinho insisted on not playing me. Any other manager, however, and I would've stayed. Mourinho is just stubborn on who he wants on his team, and who he doesn't want. He doesn't "pretend" to like someone. He's not very superficial at all.

And for God's sake, buying Torres was asking for trouble. His decline at Liverpool was evident, and Chelsea made too much of a rush in buying him. He's cost you guys more games than he's won for you.

And di Maria's attitude is top class. But he's having a rift with Ancelotti. I'm not seeing him playing here much longer. Ancelotti is forced to use Bale due to his immense price tag, and that means that either Isco or di Maria will miss out. Right now, he's rotating Isco and di Maria in AM, to give them equal playing time. Sooner or later though, di Maria will leave.

Either way, neither my club nor your's have any patience. Because we have the money to replace any "disappointments" in a matter of days. I'll stick to my initial opinion that neither Madrid nor Chelsea treat players like "big clubs with big expectations". They treat them like "money-trashed clubs whose management do not possess patience".

Forgot to say that Torres not being sold is a political decision as well. Do you realize how much of a laughing stock Abramovic would be if Torres was sold a season or two after his flop? It's like how everyone laughs at Liverpool for buying Andy Carroll (LOL). The Suarez transfer in the same window is the only thing keeping them from their shame in that horrible transfer. But Chelsea only spent the big bucks on Torres that window, and that's why it's mandatory to give him more of a chance before selling him. Mata's departure actually proves a profit for you guys, and Ozil for us proved a 35 Million profit (lol), so that makes things a lot easier when it comes to making political decisions.

@Dynastian I agree with most of what you said. however, Marcus answered whatever I wanted to say. Of course I feel a bit sad to lose our Mata. But I'm a club fan before a players fan, I back the club and the manager first. I'm pretty sure Mourinho knows what he is doing. and at the end it's better for the club and the players themselves too. Players like KDB and Mata should be playing in the starting XI and I'm glad that Mata stayed in the EPL.

@Dynastian98

I cover it briefly . I will try to be as comprehensive I can be .

Just a little comment . Usually CM do not score and assist much but Lampard is versatile player. He usually prefers to play attacking midfield . You can put Lampard anywhere on the field and he will do just fine. Of-course not as good in his regular preferred position . It is backed by his amazing goal record and assists record. Similarly what Mourinho did with Ozil was turning him into Lampard . That brilliant counter attacking football Real Madrid played in 2012 was commanded from the midfield by Ozil who was doing tons of defensive and offensive work and setting the pace of the attack . So in a way Ozil can be considered as CM as well.

I agree about why Ozil was sold . That was another reason from many other. However, I just can not see how Ozil's situation and Mata's similar . Selling Ozil was just plain dumb move . Every manager, every player , pundit and journalist in the world was shocked . Is everyone shocked that Mata is sold ? No , because Mata is not the same type of caliber as Ozil . Player like Ozil will demand starting line up and he proves over and over again why he deserves regular start . In those few weeks there was not a single reason why Madrid would have been better off without Ozil . In Chelsea , I can name you a whole list of reasons why Juan Mata's style just does not suit to Chelsea philosophy . You know Gary Nevile , arguably best pundit in England , was against Mata joining United . You should read his interview , he has some very good points on Mata. Our style is not too different from United , so this interview backs our decision to sell him . Plus , it was a pure strategy to strengthen United before City and Arsenal matches . It is going to make them top dogs again but it will make them stronger .

<http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2892/transfer-zone/2014/01/21/4558479/mata-would-not-suit-manchester-united-says-gary-neville>

Mourinho stubborn because he knows what he is doing . I back him up 100% on this one . Of course I do not always do . I hate when he plays Eto sometimes or Willian , but now I sort of feel that he finally knows when to play these players and against who to play them . Mourinho will go down in history as best manager ever . He is Muhammad Ali of football .

Torres's purchase ridiculed me too , because he was coming off an injury and he was not in form . Also, we did not lack any strikers or quality striker at that time . Either way over the years we made money of off him . People can laugh as much they want but they do not realize how much money and benefit Chelsea got from Torres being in the squad . I am pretty calm about this flop . It was a big flop and did set us back in many games but then again almost every title we won , Torres played his part when we needed the most . So looking back It feels like if we never had Torres we probably would not have won Champions League and Europa League .

In conclusion , again I do agree that big clubs treat their players like a pair of gloves that can be replaced at any time. However, it is like our jobs in our lifes . We all have jobs and this day and age , we can always be replaced at our work . Job market is competitive just like football market . Therefore for employer to wait until one employee starts to fit into company's team is waist of money and time . Usually there is 3 months evaluation .We gave Mata 4 months .
There comes the impatience . Success is demanded quick and immediate if not there will always be someone else who can replace you. However, employee like Ozil was a heart of Real Madrid and you do not throw your "heart" out . It is same mistake Madrid made back in 2003 when they sold Makelele and ever since they struggled . Same when ever they dismissed Vincent Del Busque after successful campaign . I just do not know how Real runs their club , but it is very confusing to me.

@Marcus

Sorry mate, but Ozil is not a CM at all. He did not throw in a shred of defensive work in 2012. Ozil was golden that year for what he did while Madrid was attacking. Lampard and Ozil are two very different moulds of players. Lampard is more able to adjust with his positioning, and can play in AM, CM, DM, and maybe even a wide-midfielder when he was in his prime. Ozil is just restricted to AM, and has almost garbage stamina. Ever wondered why Mourinho always took him off in the 70th minute, even in the big games? He knew Ozil wouldn't last for the next game unless he did that. That's why I say Wenger hasn't figured out the trick to using Ozil yet. Ozil needs to be im AM, and can only play 70-75 minutes per game before growing exhausted.

Selling Ozil and selling Makelele were different transfers. In Ozil's position, Ancelotti actually made sure that there were logical and better replacements (Modric and Isco). In our case, Isco is actually a player who will go on to become even better than Ozil. He's come to Madrid one year younger than when Ozil came, so wait until next season to make your definitive judgments on whether Ozil's departure was equivalent to Makelele's or not. We actually find ourselves (after Ozil's departure), in the quarters of the Copa, Ro16 of the CL, and one point off 1st place in La Liga. Not bad, don't you say?

PS. Like TheGame said, it's never a smart idea to strengthen your rivals. Mourinho may be a genius, but he makes some stupid mistakes too. Selling Mata to United was one of them.

@Dynast I dont think so.
Manchester United are not actually Chelseas direct rival, imagine if Mata leeds United to beat Arsenal or Man City? Mourinho is a winner and every single thing he can do to make it dificult for others, he will do it. Every point now will be decisive , Mata was not going to be used for the remaining games anyway and at the end of the season, Mourinho may become the genius again.

Manchester United had been title contenders for every single season since 2000-2013. They had won it 8 times in those 14 years. Please elaborate on how they don't pose a threat to Chelsea's future title hopes.

Yes, United will come stronger next year no doubt. But i think every Chelsea fan dont mind not winning next year if they are Champions at the end of the season. And i think Mourinho knows what he is doing, its actually working for him, wait and see...

Okay Tiki. This is a similar situation to when RVP was sold to United. Arsenal may be leading now, but that's because of Wenger finally spending the big bucks on Ozil. If United finish ahead of Chelsea next season, Mourinho will have no one to blame but himself for selling Mata to a direct rival.

Yawn.

We've been linked, AGAIN, with Fredy Guarin.

Except, I seriously cannot imagine why. We already have 4 midfielders who are better than him. Why would we bother to spend €10m (the quoted price being negotiated) on this player? This smells to me more like Guarin's agent trying to rustle up some interest for his player, than a serious consideration by Spurs.

@lodatz

United has been linked with Guarin . Especially after Carricks injury , I think Moyes will make just one more signing .

Also Linking Dante with United sounds very possible destination for defender . Dante 30 years old and his agent just craving for last big transfer move .
