Monaco are ready to make a world record €100m (£85m) bid for Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo has just two years left on his contract at Madrid and is known to be disillusioned with life at the Santiago Bernabeu, at the end of his fourth season there.

The Ligue 1 club, funded by Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev, have already spent over £110m this summer on Radamel Falcao of Atletico Madrid and James Rodriguez and Joao Moutinho of Porto. They are now prepared to make their boldest move yet, taking advantage of the Portuguese forward's frustration at Madrid, and failure to sign a new deal, to tempt him to join with a world record salary offer of €20m (£17m) per year.

I would be absolutely gobsmacked if Ronaldo leaves Madrid this summer.
IMO, this is all posturing in order to get the best new contract he can; and I think it will work.
Say what you want about Ronaldo but he cares too much about his footballing legacy to go somewhere like Monaco or PSG. Not gonna happen. I think he'll stay.

@Footaholic I totally agree mate, He should definitely stay at Real Madrid or just go back to Manchester United. But Monaco are trying to do what Real Madrid did on Zidane's era. so lets see how their starting XI will be like this season.

@Footaholic

At the same time, he DID tweet that all the contract rumors surrounding him and Madrid have been false, signaling to Perez that it's now or never. I don't think Madrid can afford to pay Ronaldo and Kaka wages at the same time, because Kaka's rumored wage is 250,000 Pounds per week, and Ronaldo's is only 20,000 higher. Kind of strange if you consider how big their effects have been since they moved to Madrid.
