The Front Row at Old Trafford = Epic Idea.

United's clash with Liverpool is one of the biggest games in world football, and on 16 March 2014 you could get closer to the action like never before with Front Row.

The champions have teamed up with Google+ to launch the historic campaign which will change what it means to be a global football fan forever. We will offer a select group of our international fanbase the chance to cheer on the team at Old Trafford, live – no matter where they are in the world.

For the first time in football, supporters will be streamed live onto the pitchside hoardings, thanks to Google+ Hangouts – the free multi-person video call feature. They will be able to show their backing directly to their beloved team, roaring David Moyes' men on in a massive fixture.

This is just awesome for the Red Devil fans. :)

This has the chance of ending very badly. - (Nudity)

lol Wolfie I don’t think that would happen, but imagine all those fans holding a note that says “Moyes OUT” Now that would be awkward for everybody.

It’s an epic idea though! I hope they do it at Stamford Bridge as well.

The ads are distracting enough as it is. Having all those random faces would be quite strange.

Though i get the idea, atmosphere should happen inside the stadium, digitalizing it is going a bit far to be honest (Imo)

Embrace the technology guys, this is great for people that can't come to old trafford because they are too far away and don't have the money and time to be there.

@Wolfie

(For the first comment) Technically, you can do that on the stadium too (this has happened before....) so it doesn't matter as much whether it is digital or live. All man utd have to do is delete that video and that's all there is.

well you got a point there but I think we'll get used to it once this becomes a norm. I'm not sure how this front row idea will work with ads. I assume the banner will get interchanged from time to time with the persons faces and the ads.

mmmmh this sounds dumb. It doesn't add anything to the stadium atmosphere, it will probably look weird (even if we get used to everything). And watching a game at home from the first row ? that would suck. You see the game better on tv. Being in the front row is amazing only if you're actually at the game watching the players and hearing and feeling the crowd.

Totally agree with @KingHenry & @Dephased. A bit cringe-worthy IMO.

I have to agree about the distraction, but wouldn't also give the players even more boost during the game? It's still a fresh idea and we still don't know how will it be like. We all have to wait and see the first impression on 16 March at Old Trafford against Liverpool.

Why do people think this is a permanent thing. They're seeing how it is and they're doing something called testing it out...

lol i just had the funniest thought

what if a player is on a breakaway and there is someone next to the net (that someone being a women), so he is on a breakaway and the women flashes, imagine the player losing focus. that would be funny to see, player missed cuz of the women

That would be nice for the fan, but too distracting... I think it would be really cool if it only shows during the warm up, the break, and post-match. Would be cool to see reaction of fans after we win the game

F*ck ads who give money to the team, lets have more digital fans! Still dont know how this works, are you going to be able to watch the game or will you just be streamed while watching your screen...

Nice game to present this feature though. Seems like a great idea, lets see how it turns out.

@Tuanis, Ads is not that annoying on stadium's banners compare to what we have on the web. let's just calm down and give them some credits. Companies sponsor those clubs, without sponsor, we wouldnt have the game we see now. I dont like Ads either. But let's acknowledge those companies for once.

What a horrible idea.

@Tuanis: F*ck ads who give moneys to teams? One of your club's main revenue generate from ads. This isn't 1960, we need advertisements in football.

I don't see why most of you think it's an awful idea just because it's not for your club it doesn't make it a bad idea. The only thing I agreed with was the distraction part. We will see how things will turn out, I like to think from other perspectives before judging on something. I think it will mean a lot to the fans and at the end of the day those players are playing for the people for the fans.

^^^ It would be so cool if a player stands right in front of your screen and you can cheer him on through your computer. I don't suppose there will be a two-way camera though?

Not sure about the two-way camera, but who knows, maybe there is an installed camera on each screen. :)
