Honestly, I won't be too harsh on Ronaldo on that one. I mean, he is a striker and a goalscorer, of course his stat not gonna look good if he doesn't score. That exactly what he bring to a team, goals.

Messi add a lot more but then again, his position and playstyle is completely different.

Messi doesn't deserve all the mess around him, he deserves better team, better coach and surely better treatment...
