The 10 Best Strikers/Goalscorers of the last Decade (2003-2013)

I wanted to ask you guys who you thought would make the list for the top 10 best strikers and/or goalscorers of the last decade. Remember, start evaluating FROM 2003. Don't rate a player as No. 1 on your list when the last time he scored more than 20 goals in a season was 1997. Be logical. Here are some ideas.

Ronaldo (Brazil)
Thierry Henry (France)
Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Sweden)
Wayne Rooney (England)
Ruud van Nistelrooy (Netherlands)
Robin van Persie (Netherlands)
Lionel Messi (Argentina)
Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal)
Radamel Falcao (Colombia)
Didier Drogba (Cote d'Ivoire)
Samuel Eto'o (Cameroon)
Miroslav Klose (Germany)
Mario Gomez (Germany)
Edinson Cavani (Italy)
Antonio Di Natale (Italy)
Francesco Totti (Italy)
Raul (Spain)
David Villa (Spain)
Fernando Torres (Spain)

...and there's plenty more, but I want you guys to rank them from 10 - 1. Let's see who puts who on their list!

Sorry. Forgot to put Diego Forlan (Uruguay), and Edinson Cavani is supposed to be "Uruguay", not "Italy"

Another idea: Let's make the lists our personal OPINION. Just so we don't get into heated arguments ;)

you can add : Diego milito : scored everywhere.
                      luis suarez: ajax-liverpool...
1) messi
2) ronaldo
3) drogba : scores less but important goals
..... very dificcult to rank cause the period is fixed, i see RVN, Rooney, etoo, totti next.
raul, del piero, and R9 were better before 2003- if it was 1998-2013 than the ranking will definitely change.
personal records:
raul : best C1 scorer.
Ronaldo 9: best WC scorer.
Messi : best scorer in a season.
Ronaldo : +250 goals in 5 years.

@TheTruth

That's the point. ;)
The choice is yours. I just gave ideas.

@tiki_taka

How is Diego Milito one of the best strikers in the last decade? He is EASILY outshone by all the others I mentioned on the list. Milito only really had ONE brilliant season with Inter, and that was the year they won the treble. Besides that, he's been languishing from injuries.

should we base it on Goal ratio/game?

I'm rating on how many goals they scored and the impact of their goals. So far, the toughest (and maybe worst :P) list I made so far.

  1. Francesco Totti
  2. Samuel Eto'o
  3. Ruud Van Nistelrooy
  4. Fernando Torres
  5. Didier Drogba
  6. Raul
  7. Zlatan Ibrahimovic
  8. Thierry Henry
  9. Ronaldo (R9)
  10. Lionel Messi

I consider CR7 more of a winger, so I didn't include him. I also think you're overrating Shevchenko.

Just because he stays longer than everybody else doesn't mean he's the best. He is truly amazing, but other people have done more. George Best or Booby Charlton.

mine number 1 will be Thierry Henry at any day.

yup quikzyyy ;) Henry in his prime will destroy many strikers these days. Henry would have scored more but was not a greedy striker and passed the ball and crucial times.

for me Zlatan Ibrahimovic is the most complete striker (CF) EVER !!
i dun consider messi and cr7 as frank CFs !! cr7 is a winger and messi is a SS/LWF
