"Saying no to Real Madrid is very difficult," he told Sport 890 AM.

"I think that's a reason for Uruguayans to feel proud, but there are no formal offers yet.

"I talked to Brendan Rodgers. He knows what I want and understands my situation."

"I worked too hard to having to continue listening to the criticism I get from English journalists," he continued.

"I love Liverpool, but I'm not prepared to keep taking all this criticism.

Oh, my. I feared (for Liverpool fans) that this would happen but thought the 10 match ban might put off any potential suitors until next year.

Not saying that his family hasn't been subject to taunts/abuse for his public image, but for him to put the majority of that blame on the media is a bit rich.

According to Skysports:

"I'm happy at Liverpool, I'm happy because of the fans. I made a
mistake, I'm human, but they've talked about me in ways they shouldn't
have," Suarez said.

"My family have suffered and things got out of hand. My daughter and
my wife have suffered. I'm not prepared to continue to put up with the
English press.

"I love Liverpool, but if there is a chance of playing somewhere
else...I suffered too much as a kid to get where I am to be attacked
unfairly by the English press. They haven't appreciated me as a player,
they've just judged my attitude."

I'm sorry but while I may agree that the FA may have been a bit unequitable in their punishments, the media wasn't responsible for your racist remarks, recurrent diving, and biting frenzies! I'm going to borrow a tweet I saw that summed up his position like this "Why can't they just let be a racist bastard in peace!"

Anyway, it seems like now he's using the media as his exit justification and the following quotes are all you need to know about where this is heading...

"I've talked to my agent, there's nothing concrete. To say no to
Madrid would always be difficult and more so with the team they have.

"I have a contract with Liverpool, but it would be very difficult to
say no to Real Madrid. There are a lot of rumours in the transfer
period, but you never know until firm offers are made.

"I've talked to the coach (Brendan Rodgers), and he knows what I
want. He was a player. Some of the players understand my situation -
enough said."

A massive shame for Liverpool as he's probably one of the dozen best players in the WORLD and no team can replace that level of talent, let alone one that's not even in Europe! But, like I said after the whole biting thing, I think it was the last straw and I hope liverpool can get as much as possible for him.

Oh, poor little Luis, so stop acting like a cunt, play football, be fair-play and the criticism will be better...
