Don't really know about how Saurez's career would be "ruined" at Madrid but I agree with you, I don't want Madrid buying Suarez either. (Never know what to do when a cannibal is your opponent).

1/5 players that go to play for Madrid get their careers ruined
I would like to say a few things I wanted to say about Liverpool and I was going to make a separate thread but Ill just post my thoughts here.
LIVERPOOL HAVE BEEN BUYING WELL - Last Winter was a undisputed success in terms of transfer dealings with a hungry Sturridge & a wayward Coutinho finding a new lease of life in Merseyside. However, this summer is looking even more promising...
Iago Aspas & Simon Mignolet: are said to be done. 2 inspired pieces o' business. Aspas looks so promising and the price tag is low and Mignolet had a stellar season and it was wise to get him for the ageing and increasingly inconsistent Reina.
Kolo Toure & Papadopolous?: Carragher has retired, Skrtel was second fiddle last season, and Agger is being courted by other clubs so it's not wonder that Liverpool are looking for another CB. Obviously K. Toure is a shadow of what he was, but he is a very friendly dressing room character, has tons of experience and crucially still has that intelligence & ability to read the opposing offence. His main problems are his fitness and speed, but he was bought on a free and will be an excellent squad player at the very least. As for Papadopolous, I know nothing about him.
Mhitaryan: I also don't know too much about him as I've only seen him once. Even still, I think the "reported" pricetag of 2om pounds is too high.
Luis Alberto: Again, I am ignorant here, but I have heard many good things about the young lad. Perhaps our resident La Liga experts would be so kind as to fill you in?
To conclude, I believe that BR (unlike his predecessor) seems to have his finger on the pulse and is really making some great moves in the market.
YOUNG TALENT ALREADY AT THE CLUB - Of all the young players I've seen at Liverpool in the past 2-3 seasons I think the most promising one is Suso. Also, Borini looked good in the U21 Euros and may come back stronger next season. There's also the likes of Sterling, Wisdom, Kelly, etc.
REGARDING SUAREZ - It sucks. He will leave. He is one of the best players in the world & was the KEY player in your team last season, but he wants out. What can you do? Shit predicament. The best you can hope for is maybe trying to convince him to stay one more year (but even that will only be 28 games as he has a 10 game suspension). Considering all the factors, its probably the best timing to just sell to the highest bidder and get rid. Re-invest the money on more good scouting targets. You WON'T get any player as good but hopefully, the ones you bring in will help pick up the slack and appreciate the chance/support without poisoning the dressing room.
With Suarez and the new signings, Liverpool will have a big chance of ending on top 4. Without him and the new signings, Liverpool will make it 6th or 5th place.
That's only a prediction. Suarez is a world class player and any club would love to have him, just if he fix his attitude.
I'm one of those who miss Liverpool playing in The Champions League. Good luck next season :)
Some things to add to Footaholic's post.
Henrik Mkhitaryan
I've seen this guy play quite a few times, and he is an absolute monster. Non-stop barrage of ridiculously hard shots, and some talented dribbling and play-making skills. More of a second-striker than an AM though. But yees, 20 Million is excessive. 10 Million would have been a good bargain.
Kyriakos Papadopoulos
Great defender. Tackling percentage is high (84% +), and averages more clearances and interceptions than Dante. The only problem I see is that he's described as being "mad" by Schalke fans, and I can see why. He makes ridiculous tackles when Schalke are losing, and apparently threw a tantrum when he was left out of the squad in a match against Poland (he's Greek). Other than that though, he's a great signing. I'd say he's worth somewhere between 10 - 15 Millioin Euros (8-12 Million Pounds).
Real sold Higuain and are either going to get Suarez or Cavani.
I think it would be better for him and his family to go to Madrid. He has done everything he can at Liverpool and still doesn't play in the CL..
With the signings of Luis Alberto and Henrikh Mkhitaryan almost completed, and Iago Aspas already joining the club, Champions League football is looking more and more like a possible reality and not a dream. Those signings will undoubtedly bring in an extra 20 goals, which Brendan Rodgers thinks can make all the difference between 7th and 4th.
With the likes of Gerrard, Coutinho, Henderson, Downing (who is no longer a flop) and possibly Henrikh Mkhitaryan in midfield and Sturridge, Iago Aspas and Borini (who is improving) in attack, we look to be set.
Suarez however, is yet to prove his loyalty. If he stayed, he would be Liverpool's 40 goal striker, which everyone knows is so crucial to a Champions League club.
All controversial acts aside, you can't deny that Suarez's skills and work rate is world class, his attitude however, is not.
If he left for Real Madrid, he'd stay there for a maximum of 3-4 years and his carrer would be ruined. So why not stay at a club which is rebuilding and be the most important player in the team?
My question is, if he stayed would we get Champions League and if he left, would we literally collapse, or could we survive?
