haha i see what you did there.

suggestion:

this poll with these lists is kinda inconclusive because you're using classic numbering attributes applied to modern numbering. this results in wrong players allocation since the players nowadays can pick any number they want as long it isn't taken or retired, no matter the role they play or how good they are at it. a given example is Maggio, who, despite wearing the n11, plays as defender for Napoli. Same goes for Milner and Kolarov at MCity. in Juventus Pepe and Coman surely aren't the best choice in those positions either, you can't omit Pogba from the quintet for example. like you can't omit all the vacant spots, since those spots are still filled with players, wearing a different number. other example, Borriello in while there are Gervinho and Pjanic out. Mertens, Silva, Aguero, Muller & more... where are all these players?

the correct approach would be hand picking the right quintet (which would be the mids+fws minus the defensive elements, or more simply the attacking 5) out of every club not looking at the jersey numbers but at the role they have in the squad. that way you'll still be excited to see who wins between Real and Barca, but at least the other clubs can compete properly with the right lineups/selections.

suggestion2:
about the retired jerseys, would be cool to list all the retired jerseys in the game of football. unfortunately i don't have the time to compile such a thread, but maybe you Dynastian, or someone else?
