Bullshit banner & bullshit red card. Was Messi sent off after kicking ball right into them from few meters? No, why was Defour sent off then?

Standard Liege should be fined heavily and banned from European competitions for a few years for something like that. Violence has no place in football.

Wasn't quite sure what was this all about, but yep just remembered. Defour played 5 years in Liege before, and joined rivals Anderlecht last summer.

I'm kind of mixed about it. I can understand the frustration of Standard Liege fans, but on the other hand I gotta think that's WAY too much. Make a banner where you dis him as much as you want, but that is just too much.

EDIT: I actually think a 10 match ban for the supporters + HEAVY fine for the team would be suitable. The fact is, the organization of Standard Liege knew all the time of this - you don't just smuggle banner of THAT size w/o anyone knowing.

i saw a news regarding this incident. Apparently defour kicked the ball TWICE towards the crowd. the first kick was at 31 min. he was booked for it. the video at top provided was the 2nd kick early in the 2nd half. 2nd yellow card given for it. so the red card was necessary i guess. as for the banner, that was harsh and should not been done by the fans.

Why was Messi not given a red card let alone a yellow card for doing something worse?

A yellow card would have served just fine. And the banner is not that bad, it is not racist nor offensive to the audience. I dont consider it a threat, it's not like they are looking to kill him. Usual stuff for ultras like this. No need to go crazy saying they should get heavily fined/banned.

@Tuanis I think that the problem with the banner is that they show Jason with Defour's head cut off. Not sure if it's his, but kind of looks like him.
