Spurs Score a 48-pass Goal

Those who didn't watch the game (and even most of those who did) might not have noticed, but the 3rd goal in Tottenham's romp over QPR came from a sequence of no less than 48 consecutive passes, over a sustained period of possession.

Thought that people who appreciate football might like this:

Awesome goal, and even better that it was against QPR! By the way, how is Pochettino doing. I know it's too early to tell but is top four a possibility with him as a manager? Or can Chelsea see another 4-0 against you guys again? ;)

To be honest, I'm taking a year a off from the Top 4 obsession, and I think that mood is shared by most of the Spurs fans I talk to. What we need is a year of stability, and to build with the new squad that was purchased last summer.

Even if we come 5th/6th this term, I'll be happy so long as we look like we know what we're doing, and have a direction to develop. Poch does seem to have that very thing in mind, and already the morale around the club is 3x better than it was under either AVB or Sherwood.

People like to laugh, because we spent the Bale money last year, but I think those same people are going to be surprised when the squad we bought with it starts playing under Poch, having had a year to get used to one another. Soldado didn't turn crap overnight. Lamela didn't cost 30m for nothing. Eriksen is already brilliant and only going to get better. Lloris is one of the best keepers in Europe, and has already stated that his chat with Levy (and the club direction laid out in that chat) is what convinced him to sign another 5-year contract.

Sandro didn't become crap, and neither did Dembele. Vertonghen is one of the best CBs in the league, and Kaboul can hopefully finally shake off the injury that plagued him for 2 seasons.

etc etc

So, with such thoughts, I am quietly optimistic about our chances, this season, even if we don't crack the Top 4. I'd like to see us really give the FA Cup a try, and stop obsessing over league position, for one season at least.

That's a nice mindset to have for the transitional period. Good luck with that. I'd much prefer it if you guys start finishing above Arsenal for a while. :)

That was a beautiful goal. Btw, what are you doing on top of the table! that's our place this season! you can have the second though. :)) I think Spurs can finish top 4 if they keep this form up. Spurs have been impressive so far and yet to concede a goal in the premier league. It's too early though.

Well done, perhaps Spurs will become good for once now.

"perhaps Spurs will become good for once now"

@Arsenal: you need to transform the content.

@lodatz

What Spurs should do is win Europa League , now that the winner gets CL Spot.

@quik: Yep, it is. :)

@Marcus: I'd love that, to be honest. Though, like with the Top 4, I'm having a year off from expectations. I think we need to give Poch his chance to grow his team, rather than demand he deliver instantly.

Great goal. Probably non of us would have noticed it if it wasn't for you.

Even though more than 30 of the pases their own halve that goal and possession are amazing. It not only shows the patience Tottenham have while playing but puts into evidence the poor pressure implemented by QPR.

The key of that goal and the entire long play was that move by Lamela. What a player you have there.

Lamela is starting to shine again. Spurs won't be expecting a top 4 place I think, but with Pochettino in charge and his tactic working, anything can happen.

And what about Eric Dier!!!!!!

Beautiful. And I got to say that Chadli is a beast. Hopefully he shines this season.

I hope so too, TG. :)

Also, if anyone is interested, here is my edit of the whole game. I'm hoping to make LodatzTV a nice resource for football fans. :)
