European players are very good in the EPL as well. Silva is arguably the best attacking midfielder in the league. Eriksen, Lloris, De Gea, Hazard, Terry, Cech, Courtois, Azpilicueta... they're all European.
But South Americans do tend to have much more flair than Europeans. It is probably due to the small streets and tight spaces they have to navigate a football through when they were growing up there.
The three players you have mentioned (Aguero, di Maria, and Alexis) all came from a different league. The footballing style in Spain and England are different, and perhaps it is the change in style that enables them to perform slightly better? Not all players that come from other leagues do well in England, but perhaps Aguero, di Maria, and Alexis had certain skill sets and experiences from their respective Spanish/Portuguese/Argentine/Italian teams and youth in South America that helps them to perform much better that most other EPL players.

What are the reasons behind South American players' domination this season in BPL? Agüero, Alexis & Di Maria are pretty much carrying their teams this season. Enner Valencia & Eduardo Vargas have also been magnificent.
One thing I've found similar in most of the players are the huge desire and fighting spirit. Not just when they have the ball, but when they don't have the ball. And another one I'd say is the culture of street football & warm weather in South America.
When you play in the streets, there's almost no time & space. You have to learn to be quick in your decisions and have to move your feet quick. About the weather, it's kinda impossible to have fun in the beach or streets playing football all day, when you have just 1-3 months of warm weather in a year.
Arsene Wenger have actually agreed on some of these ones, here are some quotes by him when he was talking about Alexis:
#
''Look across Europe and where are the strikers from? Many of them, at least 80 per cent, are from South America,' Wenger said.''
"Maybe it's because in Europe street football has gone. In street football
when you're 10-years-old, you want to play with 15-year-olds.'Then you have to prove you're good, you have to fight and win impossible balls."
"When it's all a bit more formalised, it's less about developing your
individual skill and fighting attitude. We've lost that a bit."
"When asked if Sanchez and Suarez were alike, Wenger replied: 'Exactly. When
Suarez gives the ball to an opponent, he wins it back straight away."
"Sanchez is the same, there is no time between the offence and defence. The
transition is very quick. And they are very quick as well."

What are your thoughts why South American players have been so good? Curious.
